Hi, I don't post much here, but I do read all the great posts. I need your help. A little over a year ago I bought a set of Cooper tires against better judgment.
The reason I bought them were because of the profile they gave my CL. From the side view, they were really wide and made the car look muscular. The rear tries came out past the wheel well. I loved the look. Unfortunately, the were really loud and did not last long.
Well, I recently moved up to DC and went in today to get some tires. I was recommended some all season Z rated Toyo's. While they appear to be good tires, they look horrible on the CL. They look like tires you find on a Towncar and they ride really mushy. Anyway, can anyone recommend some tires that have the look of the Cooper's but last longer, are quite, hug the road, and do well in rain (I know snow is out of the question)?
Thanks....

I use Michelins myself. I wouldn't consider anything else.
Thanks, I agree they are the best tires and I will probably exchange the Toyo's for the Michelins. I was trying to find a tire that has a wider profile.

Goodyear Eagle F-1's. They don't last incredibly long, but they're incredible tires and a lot cheaper than Michelin PS2's. But this is only a summer tire.

are they stock or sport wheels? if they are sport wheels w/ 245 and 275 size, I'd highly recommend the Nitto 555, or Falken 452 on the starting range. If you incline to spend a little more than you need too, can't beat Contisport 2, Michelin PS2, P-zero etc, but I'd go with Falken or Nitto for the money and life.

Don't do the Nitto NT555's. Those were the worst tires I have ever used. They rode like crap and had no traction.
I'd go with Michelin or the Continental Conti Sport II. I don't usually recommend the Continental but they work well on a very heavy car. Avon makes a great tire too.
I didn't care for the Eagle F1 GS-D3's. I refuse to run them again due to the relatively quick wear and tread design that is incredibly loud over rough surfaces.

I have the Nitto 555's (245/275) on my 600 and I'm not very happy with them. I want to go with the PS2s.

I have the Michelins on both cars.
After trying the Conti`s on the CL a couple times and the
Pirelli`s on the SL. The Michelins are the best deal.
They last longer and handle well thru the life of the tire.
The Conti`s cup too easy and need more rotation.
The Pirelli`s are fine new. But when the get older
handle and feel like crap. Way to hard of a tire.
