Horror Story!

What's up everyone,

Here's another incident that I have had since buying my CL: Yesterday, I was driving back home and my car did some very strange and unusual things. First, a battery charge indication came up on my dashboard. The front headlights went out. Then, my steering became very, very heavy and would not let me turn. After that, my ABC warning came on saying the car was too low. I managed to drive the car about 1/2 a mile and park while almost driving into oncoming traffic because of the limited steering. After I parked the car, it violently shook and made a very loud thud as if the engine dropped. I went out to see what happened and the car dropped very low. So, I turned it off and waited for a flatbed to drop it off to the dealership. The car was semi-driveable but the steering seemed to be locked into place and I could not control the air-ride suspension. What the hell happened and what "call" should I expect from my dealer? Any advice/suggestion would be appreciated. I do have a warranty. Thanks in advance.

ABC pump is together with Power steering. That would be my first intuition. Glad you got warranty. That pump is 2800 plus labor.

ABC pump, mine did the same thing while I was going 60+ on the freeway. Dropped so hard it ripped off half of my front bumper. I'm glad I didn't get into an accident....ABC pump in my opinion. You have warranty should be all good, mine was a 4K visit to the shop, abc pump and some others

i never understand why mercedes always wants to be first in automotive technology but never do enough research and development before unleashing it out to the public. i mean, it has to be lack of research, development, and quality control, isn't it?

I got a call from my dealer and good news...it wasn't the abc pump, rather it was the pulley belt. Basically the same problem that giggalo had. Is it possible this could happen again? Also, do you guys know anything about the abc hose corroding overtime due to high temp and humidity? Supposedly, there was a recall for it? I read it on edmunds.com. Here it is:

http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/r...tner=edmunds#2

Let me know if this accurate because I'm worried this might lead to more ABC problems in the future. Thanks for the advice everyone. You guys are really helpful!
