Selling my 04 CL600 - Best offer

2004 CL600
10,924 miles
Original owner, never raced, car has been pampered
Still under original factory warranty 4 yrs/50k miles (maintenance included); warranty expires July 2008
Renntech ECU/TCU Upgrade ($6,400 - 625 HP/725 TQ)
Options: AMG Sport Package, Parktronic, Remote Trunk, Keyless Go, Window Tint, LoJack

I'm looking for the best offer I get over $60k. I've been offered $55k trade-in which equates to approx $59k with the sales tax savings. I paid $130k for this car new in July 2004 (sticker was $138k) from Park Place motors in Dallas. Car is located in Houston. I will email pics upon request.

I was under the impression that trade-ins these days did not affect the sales price anymore. Am I incorrect, or are you doing something special?

The trade-in reduces the taxable amount, therefore I would not owe sales tax on the $55k value of the trade, only on the difference between the car I am purchasing and the trade.

Oh duh, it's a state thing. In California there is no reduction. But in TX you get the benefit -- Lucky you.

Bump for a great deal! beauty of a car! but come-on bro?? Renn ECU/TCU upgrades and you say you never raced her? Just because you didn't get her to 1/4 track doesn't negate street racing? And it's NO big deal w/us perf junkies, you obviously bought the TT 600 for the power?? especially w/Renn upgrades that cost $6500

Never raced Ahh yeah o.k.

I had a 1999 E55 but now driving a 2006 E320 CDi. I had a 1996 Gymkarna Corvette (300 bhp) and a 1986 Porsche 911 Targa (200 bhp) and would like to return to the muscle car scene. I have considered the Shelby GT and the upcoming Blue Devil Corvette with 700 bhp. The only problem I have with the Corvette (and Viper) is that they are plastic cars and I do not feel safe in them. My old Corvette shakes like crazy at 70 mph and over. Very unrefined. May be the new ones are better.

Sorry to disappoint but the car has never been raced. Not saying I wouldn't, just never had the chance. This is my weekend driver. I got the upgrade because I couldn't stand knowing there was so much more power to be had with a relatively simple upgrade. The car is an absolute monster. I had a 2003 Porsche 911 turbo and a 2004 Viper and IMO this car would smoke either in a drag race.
