Need Advice-Best way to sell a Cl500 right now

Hey everyone. What are the chances of selling a cl500 right now and getting anything decent for it. Looking at ebay motors it does not look pretty. Can you offer any suggestions? My father has one with perfect paint, amg rims, amg dual exhaust, and it is in overall top condition. Mileage a bit high, 70k. Kbb value is much higher than what I see on ebay now. The car was bought a few years ago for 41k, can he at least get 20-25k now?

i bought my '02 CL600 a while back with 61,000 miles for $25k. but there may not be as much demand for the V12 since it's prone to have expensive problems.

20grand

private party sale, and you are in the range where most people don't have that cash on hand so they will be few and far between.
23k for a 2000 must have got taken by a dealer
ohlord
also forget KBB as a pricing value guide. It is what the dealer use to rip you off.

I barely got out of my pristine '04 with 70k. Took a little bit of a bath on it, but traded for a Porsche. At least I have what I want now. I've never seen a car tank in value like a CL...

Repair cost's after the warranty runs out doesn't help the cause and may be the biggest reason for the extremely steep depreciation curve.

The frequent - and very costly ABC repairs have become known to many Benz drivers....

Nice looking car!

It's sad to know that the CL's resale value has dropped so much over the past few years.

I see that the car has aftermarket pedals, quad tip exhaust, and 2003+ taillights installed. Definitely make a mention of these items, as the taillights alone are almost $400 not counting installation fee.

Option wise, it's also a pretty loaded car. From the pictures on eBay, other than Distronic, it looks like it's equipped with most of the options such as Parktronic, heated/ventilated seats, and rear sunshade.

Having a new ABC pump is a plus as well. It's a costly item to replace ($3k at least) and it's definitely another selling point for this vehicle.

Good luck!

Jon

You're welcome.

If you have access to the car, also check the buttons located on the bottom portion of the seat.

If you see a "pulse" button/switch, then the car's also equipped with the optional massage seat, which may also be desirable to potential buyers.

Take

out the negatives(ABC)and the interior wear issues.
No need to fib, just let the pics do the talking and their due diligence in inspecting the car as the caveat.Mention all systems in full condition and properly maintained.
ohlord
good luck on your sale.
