07- CL 600 V-12 Gear Shift STuck in Park!! HELPPPPP!!!!
I changed battery on 2007 - CL 600 V12 and now the car starts but will not shift out of park......code reads "visit workshop without shifting gears" . Can anyone help??

A common cause for not being able to
Shift out of park is due to a common flaw of the park lock .
Both my fathers S class and my CL had this failure.
We just had to have the cars towed and then repaired (expensive) at the dealer.
Very common problem which Mercedes has known about
for years.

i've read that if you simultaneously pull the shifter back while hitting the top of it and keeping the brake on it may come out of park. there is a super long thread on this recently. check it out and let me now if i'm right.

I believe theres a pin underneath the shifter that can shear from wear and will not allow you to get it out of park. Youll have to tow it to the dealer and they will take the shifter apart and replace the pin to align it again.

i had this happen to my 2000 W210 E320 wagon - sometimes it would get stuck in Park...had to play w/ it or wait 10-30 minutes. Finally the dealer changed some major parts. Thank goodness for CPO warranty.
