Instrument cluster/water on passenger floor

Hey guys i noticed today that i had a puddle of water on my passenger floor and it look like it came from under the dash, i popped the hood and didnt see any leaves or anything, its been raining like crazy the last few days,i was driving home and the dash lights started flickering and dispayed a message but saying to visit workshop, also my auto seat wasnt workin or my rear blind and when i close the doors the windows wouldnt go all the way up like they used to and i noticed that my rear taillights was stayng on and flickering can somebody help me!!!! Has anybody else experienced this and if so was it expensive to repair???

That is a common area to flood when the fresh air intake on the passenger side below the windshield is blocked.

you can pop off the mesh cover under the windshield and clean out the drain. when this occurs it is common for the water to get into the fuse panel under the (rear) passenger seat- this can cause extensive electrical problems. good luck

Do u think the water could have damaged the rear sam? If so what else could the water might have damaged? My battery was drained i got it charged and tried to start it it didnt start is there some kind of fuel shut off when you disconnect the battery??

Also i put my hand under the fresh air box and there it was a bunch of leaves clogging it up...SMH PISSED!! My tech told me before to keep the leaves off the top but never knew about the bottom where the water flows out!!

Yes water and electronics are a real problem when mixed.

Best bet is to let air dry, charge the battery and keep trying. If that fails, have the entire system scanned via STAR.

i remember getting a letter from mercedes talking about this problem and including checking the vent for blockage free. this is a known problem and i read of mercedes fixing the problem free in some cases. i would go to a good reputable dealer and see if he can help out. also contact mbusa and see if they will help. good luck!

Thnx guys i had it towed this mrng my tech scanned all the sams and the rear sam was the only module off line so i when on ahead and ordered it..so im praying that everything will b good.
