You need to order from the Cl 215 part of the website & choose slanted top mounts. That's all i did. They were £839 inc. vat & delivery. I am in the U.K. Though. I've read about different spring rates but they didn't offer me that option, saying it was only choice. They arrived 1 1/2 days after I placed the order. This is how it looks now.

Don't worry too much about the forum talk of fitting sway bars (arb's) I was prepared to have to do this. During the last week I've used every bit of the 500's power on a mixture of roads in fairly cold temperatures & it really isn't an issue in my opinion.

We have finally had some sunshine today, I also have now got stainless cherry bomb silencers on the rear with original tailpipes, so my drive home today with all windows down was awesome. Some nice crackles & pops on down shifts with a full on v8 sound under hard acceleration. One thing I would like to know is if I can fit a later steering wheel with paddles from say a facelift Cl 55 AMG? My steering wheel is looking a bit worn around the rim. A flat bottomed AMG one would be great.

Andrew pempek can modify your current steering wheel , without needing to buy a new one .. or you can buy one with the paddles and he will make it work

see
https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w220/616916-s600-s500-s430-paddle-shift-steering-wheel.html

as far as the sway bars , people were mainly referring to the soft strutmasters conversion and saying it could benefit by having sway bars

no one who had purchased the yellow speed conversion had mentioned feeling like they needed sway bars . Good to know the yellow speed kit is so good it doesn't need them !

Do you live in NI...or is it just your number plate?

Did you advise your insurer of the change, if yes, what was their reaction?

Tricky one regarding insurance, I've had lots of heavily modified cars, one of which was a land rover v8 heavily modded with an auto gearbox, Range Rover axles, massive lift & 0 offset rims, I had a massive crash in that ( not my fault) a guy pulled out on me, I broke my pelvis in that one. Both cars were written off. Ins inspected it. Had no problems. Claim went ok including personal injury. I also had a jeep wj 4.7 which had cut out arches & massive wheels / lift. It was also hit by a car & nothing was said by insurance. In both cases the mods had no effect on the cause of crash or claim so I think they just weren't bothered.

I'm sure this will end up starting a forum argument 😕 But I also think that modding a Cl with a yellowspeed conversion has probably made it safer & more predictable. Yes you should tell the insurance company but just be aware that it will give them a perfect excuse to have your pants down & have you for a load more money just cause you've messed with it. If it's done properly by someone with proper experience it will not make the car a risk. Mine is due for renewal soon so I will shop around explaining what's been done. At the end of the day I've taken out failing components and replaced them with new stuff and my cars are well maintained so I'd be a bit annoyed to have to pay a load more insurance for making it better / safer.

Those 19s are sweet. I been debating getting 19s but i'll have to buy new tires or keeping my current tires(still good shape) and getting 18s like those...19s fit the car so much better in terms of looks

Just wanted to say my car had its first MOT test today after fitting the coilovers and passed with no problem. I had concerns about the lack of sway bars & message on dash ( instrument cluster abc visit workshop) in white which I can delete with R button but it was fine.

Mot's were something I had concerns about when I did it but they were fine about it.

The mot mot is an annual safety test in Great Britain by the way for those of you in other countries!

STE 73 Your car is gorgeous. I just bought an 04 CL500, one owner 34000 miles, same color combo as yours without factory sport package. I can't tell if yours has the sport package. If not then I am even more impressed with the addition of the AMG rims. Can you clear up for me please?
