Mot's were something I had concerns about when I did it but they were fine about it.

The mot mot is an annual safety test in Great Britain by the way for those of you in other countries!
Ste, I'm in the UK too. Could you send me a link to the parts you ordered please. My ABC system is fine at the moment (touch wood) but when it starts to play up I'm going to go this route.

Many thanks!

ive just ordered my yellowspeeds for a cl500,..i was reluctant to do it because my car had a new ABC pump installed 4.5k miles ago,by the previous owner,..,but the valve block at the rear just exploded, greenish fluid all over the floor but the suspension is still sitting fine,..BUT..if this valve block has gone the next is sure to be not far behind,,as well as accumulator replacements,,and who knows what else...so i,m running from the ABC route now, before i throw any such money at it,,i know its a cadinal sin to most people, but, i dont want to chuck £5-6k to be in a horrible cycle,,,so reading this thread as well as others i decided its the way to go,,the car is far to good to scrap.!...so how are you all getting on since your changeovers after time..?..and how did you eventually manage with the ABC dash warning ?

IMO, you're doing the right thing at the right time :-). I'm very happy with the YellowSpeed conversion.

I don't mind the resulting "white" dash warning - you just cancel it out with the "R" button. I don't mind doing this as a regular part of startup, but others find the $350-or-so for the Strutmaster's box to be a good investment (making any warnings go away forever). For a while, S-master's wouldn't sell the box separately, but I'm told that they now will do just that.

thanks for the confidence boost. did you use a new s500 steering pump ?...or did you leave in the other,?. i could probably get some money back by selling what i take out..i also just saw the price on the small electronic box .. $540 inc shipping !..and that will be probably subjest to import vat ?.. someone could make a right little earner if they were electronically minded.!.i wonder if there is someone out there with a mate ..i,ll press the R button instead.no problem !

thats excellent help,. i,m thinking now to take your advice and leave it in place with a re route of the lines,.as i know the pump is perfect, and for the sake of messing around to make a couple of hundred quid back its not worth the hassle !..especially as we will have to drain the fluid and refill etc etc, and a new resevoir,..great help all around,,thank you...ive got a competent mechanic to do the job with me,so i,ll show him this to see if he knows the pipe reroute, unless its on here already and ive not seen it as yet...

ive studied both of the above regarding which pump etc, ive actually decided now to order a seperate hydraulic ps pump,as the splicing or re routing of lines does actually look like a cumbersome task,.and didnt want to have any further "not knowings" if its correct or not..apart from the headwork. the only difficulty i did find was locating the correct pump with the bracket,.in fact the only one i could find was a new bosch K S00 000 624 with one attached..now i know it wasnt cheap,.but in the whole realm of things i have a quality pump that i can rely on..i couldnt even find a seperate bracket,.so for peace of mind i got this..youve been hugely helpful and i cant thank you enough..now i await my deliveries.!
the cost of the yellow coilovers and this pump came to just over a £1050 ...apart now from looking after my friend the mechanic who is a great friend,i,ll have a piece of mind new install without waiting for the flashing lights on the dashboard !

I completed my YSR coilover conversion about two weeks ago now. I ordered the 20kg spring rate for the rear coilovers but, I'm discovering that they are a little too stiff for what I'm looking for. I'll be replacing them with 14kg springs in a few days but thought I would see if someone on the forum would be interested in a set of 20kg springs. BTW, these are on a 03 s600. Please PM me if anyone is interested.

2002 CL500 to CL55 conversion
Those are some really nice looking CL’s guys.. can’t wait for my yellow speeds to get here next week and finally have the car lowered again!!!

anybody have any recommendations on settings? I ordered 16/16 front and rear spring rates and I understand it’s not easy to adjust the coilovers after they are installed...

My personal advice is buy a cl 215, fit the yellowspeeds, set them up & then go & enjoy how unbelievably well it takes bends without sway bars, its quite strange how a suspension system can be so compliant when driving normally yet so stiff as it piles into a corner at high speeds.
i'm considering adding front sways at least, to counter the unsafe bounciness at high speeds with bumpy roads. otherwise yes the system does not allow much body roll suprisingly

Hi Ste73, have you still got the CL500?
How's it doing on the coilovers?

I just did my CL500 with YS Coils and it's good. Worth the money. YS USA has a set of coils for the W215 on open box for 850. Just make sure they are the slanted tops if you buy them.

I saw those after I placed my order. They are still there or they have different open box set for sale.

Just ordered a set of Yellowspeeds for my '06 CL500. Tandem pump is howling at 1000-1500 RPM, A few metal shavings in the fluid as well, it's only a matter of time before it fails. Going to replace the tandem pump as part of the process with just a W220 PS pump, remove as much of the plumbing and hydraulic hardware as possible, and see how it ends up. This thread and a few others have been instrumental in providing the info needed for me to make the decision - thanks all!
