it was years ago but I believe I ran my high pressure side dry, and daily drove the car that way for months. Maybe even a year? And the power steering side of the pump worked fine.
given what I understand now about belts, bearings and pulleys. I probably wouldn’t attempt this again, but maybe this info is useful to you
Be sure to share which settings/setup you chose with your Cieka kit!

QUOTE=MistaJ504;7960290]I disassembled the pump and removed the pistons and springs from the high/suspension side. There is a sleeve bearing that the pump shaft rides on so I am plugging the discharge and filling it with oil for a "bath" to keep the bearing lubricated but it shouldn't require pressure. Next step tonight is to install it and see how it holds up. The V12 doesn't allow for a quick easy non-ABC pump swap so I'll give this a try, but without the pistons riding on the cam lobes I anticipate a positive outcome.[/QUOTE]

I never worked more on it as I got the module years ago
but it should be possible with Vediamo

There are many versions and choices for DAS/Xentry Diagnostics for MB.
Ensure you have the right information before getting one. There is too much misleading info.
I’m a forum member and programmer who’s learned the hard way. PM me if you have any questions.
I'm looking specifically for the part number of that bracket @smartadze indicated in his posts up there ^ I can call MB this week and get it, of course, but if anyone knows it, it will help me. I want to purchase a reman or new power steering pump and those don't include the bracket, sadly

I'm pulling my ABC pump to replace with a W220 PS pump. All I need to know is that part! Any help is appreciated!

PS - MB Parts Miami says the pump will fit 5.8l V12's from 01-06

Careful if you buy a new one, as it might not come with a reservoir or triangle bracket.
The high pressure steering hose needs to be about 4" longer, but I believe that loosening the first bracket down on the rack will give me that length... I'll know later tonight.
I also have a brand-new, never-installed, complete set of Strutmaster coil-overs that I will sell for $400 + shipping (probably about $110 to lower 48) to anyone on this forum. This kit consist of all four W215 coilover shocks, with 4 ABC plugs and brass caps. If you are just doing an ABC pump recirculation, this is all you will need and it is 1/2 the price of buying it directly from them. This kit does not include the light module. Just message me.

I thought the same thing at first, then a day or so later I noticed I was indeed getting the white, resettable “abc warning “ message on the dash. I believe if removing the computer alone has solved your issue, your car may ironically be “suffering” some sort of electrical fault.
I put suffering in quotes because obviously a lack of an annoying abc warning message is not a real problem!
I think besides the first to do a coilover swap on these cars, I was first to try removing the abc fuses and try removing the abc computer, both methods had varying degrees of success. But not complete success. It’s hard to consider $400 or so, worth it to remove one error message, especially with strutmasters customer service. Hard to want to give them more money despite arguably having the only acceptable coilover kit for these cars
