New CL500 Owner!
I finally found a decent example locally and brought it home yesterday. True to form it has its share of issues and I wanted to get some feedback from you all. I have been reading the forums quite a bit but some things remain unclear for me still.
The car sis ever so slightly off on 1 side when parked, I dont have any messages on the console so how do I check the ABC is ok?
The trunk wont open when prompted via the FOB, I have to force it up and slam it close. I read it could be the mechanism or pump? How do i figure out where to start?
I have a hideous stance and I think it might be due to not period correct wheels? I have plans on getting AMG 18" Monoblocks off eBay soon.
Thanks in advance!

Good looking CL! I still need to get pics up of mine. Just do your research on the abc system and you’ll find out it’s not that difficult to work on. I had a blown out hose by the rear drivers wheel and the aft accumulator was bad. After researching and ordering parts at about $620 I fixed my issue rather easily. Only about a day working on it.

Thanks! Definitely a project car.

You need to get a STAR xentry setup.
It's a laptop with diagonistic hardware/software required to do dealer work on the car.
As for your trunk not opening, most likely the rear latch is leaking air.
Trunk opens with a PSE pump(pneumatic pump) and if it's leaking the fob and interior door switch for trunk won't work.
The stance looks normal, it should drop a little under ABC sport mode.
As for the lean on one side, it could need a valvebody oring kit installed with new fluid and filter.
I got a super cheap CL55 a few months ago as well for a project car.

Thanks for the info, I still have to figure out how to use the ABC buttons on the dashboard.
In regard to the trunk, the button on the inside of the trunk does close it, the pump issue makes sense.

Have a look at their eBay listing, it shows: Stuttgart Austria. - I know how to spell "Stuttgart" Have been there several times. Thanks for the telephone number.

could consider a coilover swap instead
the trunk may or may not have automatic (hydraulic) closing feature, investigate further. there should be a fluid resevoir under the battery from what I understand, sometimes these reseviors are just low on fluid
likewise with the abc, check the fluid level

ABC with a low mileage (if real) like you could not be a disaster to fix
but you must hook it up to a diagnosis, you can't guess and guess replace parts as they are expensive
buy a diagnosis tool or the real one instead of wheels for now
would you buy a hat instead of pants if you had a hole in them ?
cheap *** diag costs like 150 USD
the real thing around 700

1 strut was bad and a steel line with the quick disconnect was leaking. Both issues replaced and a flush was performed. Car is back and running fine. Now I need to figure out how to change the digital clock as the time is wrong lol

Personally I wouldn't do the coil over swap. One of my hoses went bad and it cost a few coins to replace it. However the suspension on these cars is remarkable. The technology was way ahead of its time. To spend a little coin every 80k miles or so is not so bad for the caliber handling you get.. Just my two cents.
