Hook up iPhone

My command unit shows phone on it. How do I know if I have everything in the car to hook up my iPhone with it?

The phone integration was pretty cumbersome in those days. Originally, you needed a special flip phone that was an option. It fit into a cradle in the console. Then they came out with a BlueTooth adapter that fit into the cradle.

So if your car came equipped with the Mercedes/Motorola flip, you will have the cradle in the center console and only need to get the adapter, which can be found used online. If you don't have the cradle (more likely, unfortunately, as the car-phone option was expensive), you would need to have the phone wiring installed, which is possible but expensive.

Thanks. What do people use to hook their phone up to these older cars then?

Actually, this adapter is for the next generation (W221/W216) which had a more modern integration. It won't work for the W220/W215.
