2006 CL500 Audio Upgrade?

Ok I have a 2006 CL500 I inherited last year that I decided to keep. Low miles only 7500. Love the car but would like to add bluetooth (Phone and Audio) and SAT radio. Found this video on another 2006 CL that removed the factory audio
.

My question is if I do the upgrade what effect will it have on the resale or collectible market if I decide to sell. Will not having the stock Audio affect the resale value?

It’s difficult;

The best option is a bluetooth radio adapater and the mercedes telephone puck.
There are other options, but I wouldn’t remove the factory audio, nor would I install a Dension unit to replace the CD changer, although it is a viable option.

Went to dealer about getting the Mercedes telephone puck. Found out the 2006CL does not have the wiring harness in the console for the puck. Also does not have Aux connection in glove compartment. What are the other options?

If you want to go the Android route, then get one that looks OEM...not as seen in the pic above.

Unfortunately no. Talked with the parts department at the dealer. They told me the factory puck connector in the armrest was removed in the 2006 CL year. I dont know if I can get the cable to add it.

fisrst thing is to find out if you have MOST or D2B fiber coding
with most D2B conversion is easy
a Android and D2B converter
just plug and play to stock amp

if MOST it's a lot of work

Unfortunately I think I have MOST. I found this on another thread . "The fiber optic system in W220 and W215 changed in September 2003 from D2B to MOST." I have a 2006 W215

Thanks for the Input MrTracy. I really like the way your China Android looks. Updated but still keeping the stock bezel. Do the steering wheel buttons (Volume up down etc.) still work? Also does the radio channel still show up in the dash on the info display? I feel going that way would probably not affect the resale value or collect-ability market.

The bezel is not stock...it just looks that way. All the buttons are operative and the screen is a touch one.

Volume can be controlled and stations changed...but channels will not show in the dash.

The system can connect to your MOST optics with a box...not difficult.

I did away with the FO because the BOSE amp was dead. I placed an amp in the boot and ran cables from the head unit to the amp.

No steering wheel controls but it is doable. You will get a lot of heat from installers about the Chinese radios. Also no info on the dash.

What is the difficulty connecting to the MOST fiber? I understand that you have to have a converter box to connect a new radio audio to the the MOST fiber ring. Does anything else in the car need re-programming or set up after a MOST adapter is added?

I know...I did it 3 years ago. Just the word bezel had me confused..I thought the other poster was referring to the actual head unit.

Fried Chicken::
I am looking at the Dension unit. You recommend not using it. What are the problems that you see with it?

I do love the OBD connection. You can reset any codes from the radio.

Mercedes
Those Chinese android units are the way to go because they look stock , give you Nav and dvd movie playback, Bluetooth audio etc . The build in obd monitor is way cool too and adds gauges !!
