cl500 keyless go door buttons

Hello
I know this has been covered times before but I rang a couple of mercedes dealers today to get price and availability for both front door handles, just the pull handles but was told by both that there are none available in the UK or Germany and probably discontinued.
Is it at all possible to repair them . Ive bought " secondhand working" but they don't.
Thanks

S-class handles are more widely available used. From what I've learned they're identical but have a different harness, one is male and the other is female, I don't recall which is which.

I have one siting on the workbench waiting to go in, just planned to splice in the CL harness into the donor S handle. I lost the keyless go card and haven't upgraded to use a newer key, so it hasn't been a big rush.

Hello
Thats encouraging but still can't find much on ebay at least.
Don't suppose mercedes had the foresight to use the same handle front and rear on the w220.

Why don't you repair the buttons?

Hi
Because as far as I'm aware they cannot be repaired as they are sealed in epoxy . New rubber button covers are available but no good if the water has done the damage already.
About an hour ago I bought a s/h pair from a specialist breaker so fingers crossed.
There's new available from a couple of places in the USA but neither would post to the UK.

I grabbed a VIN of a random 2003 S600 that I found on eBay, with Keyless Go, and entered it into EPC.

Front and rear door handles had identical part numbers on both sides.

Well the two handles that i was hoping to get from the USA have come to nothing as no eta on them so going to try repairing them as per tim687's link.
Microswitches came today and I've drilled out to allow for access.

I ground a channel in the epoxy to sink the wires into ,wired it up with a new button and it all works OK at the plug.
I've held the wires in place with tape then filled with pu adhesive/sealer then I'll take the tape off and fill too.

Interested in this as well. Do I need replacement micro-switches? Aliexpress screwed up with the registration and don't want to deal with ordering from the linked posted on benzlworld.

Yes you will.
Got mine from rs components
Switch Tactile J bend soft 3.5mm 1.6N
Stock no.:894-9032

Resistor I found on ebay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302605846036
I didn't need to remove as much material from the handle as I did. Drilling 1/2" down through the crosshairs and then straight down through the epoxy with a 5mm bit is enough.

Now got the passenger side done too. Drivers side has been working just fine.
If anyone wants theirs done but dont fancy doing it themselves I still have some buttons and resistors left.

I might give your buttons a try, as my button has failed on me. It was a chinesium button, so that might explain it.

How are the dimensions of your button compared to mine?

3mm
Not an issue as you just have to be careful how far you set it in.

I asked just to compare against my buttons, which seem to be slightly thicker

Shouldn't make a difference as once drilled out you can set them in as required
