Replacing Distronic MB emblem

Hey everyone,

The MB emblem on my grill (distronic) is starting to fade a little... I had someone come out and buff it out (the headlight people) but it still doesn't look great. It almost looks like just your everyday road debris kind of aged it...

Here is what it looks like after it's been buffed out -

I want to replace this. I've been told it comes as "part of the grill" and I can't get it by itself. I don't believe this is true. Can someone advise or confirm?

I found these on ebay and think it's the right one...

Ebay - MB Emblem Distronic (A1648880411)

I'd appreciate it, if someone could confirm this will work.

Thanks!

You can easily restore it like any plastic part. Wet sand and polish. I put a plastic protector over mine, the stuff that you put over head lights to protect from road debris and aging, after I restored...so it won't be an issue in the future anymore.

A bit late...

I've replaced only the star on my W216 coupe. It came in at $180. Even my mechanic initially thought that the part was only part of an entire assembly. After a bit of research, he was able to just buy the star.
