Any suggestions would be much appreciated. The car only has 21K miles, so only going to replace the one. It hasn't dropped but 1" and on one side only.
I'm not aware of any other company that makes a strut for ABC. I'd spring for a remanufactured one vs. buying a used one. Any used one you'd buy would be near the end of its life cycle, and you'd probably be changing it again within months to a couple years.

what year is the cl550? Does it have airmatic or abc suspension? I am on my second aftermarket airmatic strut on my 2010 cl550. They are so cheap and the job to replace them is remarkably easy, so in my case i don’t mind using aftermarket but your experience may differ.

Wasn't Airmatic only available on 4matic models? I think the op must have ABC due to having a CL600.

This is in my 550 4matic not my 600

I’m taking it to the dealer in the morning and having them diagnose it. The car sits at 27 1/2 after sitting over night, 29 normally. They are easy to replace but I’m only going to replace the one that’s defective. I don’t even know if it’s a defective strut or not. I’m thinking it’s possibly a height sensor. If it’s a strut, I’m worried if I get a remand unit will it be quiet. I don’t want to put on a new one because the aren’t valves the same as original. Usually they only changed the bag and that’s done in about 15 minutes. Changing them on the car itself, the front looks really very simple.

On my 600, I bought it new and would never destroy a 194k car, especially one with only 6k miles. If it ever fails, it will get a new factory strut and a proper replacement.

it’s a 2011 CL550 4matic. I bought it because it was a low mile, flawless full Designo with every option offered in Designo Platinum black with a Designo Porcelain interior with Designo champagne piano wood. A rare beast indeed.

UPDATE: I just took it to Mercedes for an alignment and paid to have them adjust all four struts for ride height. UPDATE UPDATE: valve block was no good. Paid 62.00 off eBay for a new one with a 2 year warranty. Took all of an hour to do the entire job. My stealership had the ***** to ask 2,150 including tax and a 60.00 shop fee. Urgh!!!

good stuff. My valve block is original with over 150k miles. Did you have to lift the entire car?

No, I didn't have to do anything but remove the front half of the fender well. It was very simple to change.
