CL55 Chip tuning - what will it bring ?

Im looking to get some performance enhancements to my CL55. I am in Europe and within easy driving distance of Germany where I intend to get the chip fitted. Would anyone know what are the best chips to go for and what I can expect to get for my money. Also any other tuning suggestions would be much appreciated.

Peace Out

.........do not chip your car.you will loose your warranty and the perfomance gain in a cl55 will be nothing regardless of the type of chip you use. if you must get a chip, i recommend POWER CHIPS. Best performance modification in the world right now is a Kleemann supercharger, but it costs $18,000 for your car, you may loose your MB warranty, but your car will fly like a jet.

Thanks for the info Ted.

My ML55 is chipped , it does make a difference on acceleration and I was happy with the final outcome. The work was done at ART tuning in germany along with some other mods last year. My ML now boasts 460 BHP!!

I understand what you are saying about the warranty but generally they don't notice the difference as I don't belive they can actually see it on the STAR system at the dealer (or whatever its called).

I also belive some chips in Germany are Mercedes Approved these days

Many Thanks

..............I am amazed that you were able to get 460HP on your ML55 from chip tunning. What other mods did you do? I am very interested. How can I contact the people that chipped your car?

Sure-

Not to seem too biased here- but there is no way in H*** you picked up 110hp from a chip tune.

I wont even ask to see the dynos as you are 6,000 plus miles away- in any event....

You are (supposedly) making 33% more power than stock- this is the type of gain one sees with 5psi of boost!

What else did you do?

I bought the car used and ready tuned from a guy I know in Germany. He collects rare Mercedes and has several pace cars from the European F1 Grand Prix's and some other rare stuff , I am trying to get him to come to the board with some pics.

I'll get the exact spec and post it along with some pics , its quite unique I have never seen one that looks the same.

This has also been recommended to me for the CL , does anyone have any comments on this?
