Black CL65 vs Red C5 Z06 video

Hey all,
new to this forum....I don't have a MB, but my boss lends me his S 430 "4 matic" awesome car, and in our harsh Montreal winters, the AWD is amazing, i rather be in that car than any jeep.

here is a vid of a CL65 racing a C5 Z06.

http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....&term=cl65&p=0

any idea who this CL 65 is? Was it a CL65? and the mods? I posted the same vid on the Z06 forum, and I can't find out the mods on that Z06 either.

anyway, just curious...
thanks

I did a few searches, on CL65 and Z06, and i can't find anything about this as a repost. I could only find the race of the C6 Z06 vs CL 65... the Z06 in this video is a C5 previous generation.

...............I could be wrong, but the Cl lloks like a C600 to me with AMG kit. If I am wrong, then I appologise. It will be inconceivable that the C5 Z06 will trounce the a CL65 in a staight line.

that looks like a cl600 to you with the amg kit, amg badge on the trunk, kompressor badges on the fender and the amg split spoke wheels?

............what video are you looking at? Why would a Cl65 have Kompressor badges? It is a V12 biturbo. You can only see V12 on the fender. You cannot see the rear of the car very well let alone make out a quad exhaust. But this doesn't even matter. Below is a video of C6 Z06 and a CL65. The CL65 won. If MB has decided to produce CL65's since then that are slower, then my mistake. Here is the link with video to the previous discussion of C6 Z06 vs CL65. LINK

.........If you have a link to the discussion of the video he posted which is a C5 Z06 racing a CL65, kindly post it since neither the thread starter nor I can find it.

1. my bad that was a typo, i meant to say bi-turbo badge
2. now you are saying that can see v12 on the fender? i see more than just v12.
3. agreed cant see the exhaust
4. i searched and youre right this video wasnt posted here but ive seen it on another forum, ill look for the link
5. did anyone hear any beeps of the horn or anything else that would let us know 100% that the cl65 was racing?
6. and if in fact they were racing, do you guys not see the gauges in the vette on the pillar? i def dont think its stock

That Z06 was not stock in any way. From the looks of it it had a boost and air/fuel pods. I couldn't realy hear the blower but it most likely was a Vortec SQ (quiet version) where the gears are cross cut. Prochargers and Maggies make a ton of noise. My buddy has a a C5 ZO6 Procharger and he puts down 680wheel HP and it will soon be 850wheel hp with his new 427ci, 16psi and 9.0cr.
The second video was kind of sad, even though the CL65 won, it did win by much against a stock ZO6. I guess my expectations were too high for a car that is $165+

Im not sure i get your point here. The C6 Z06 is a 11 second car stock, beating a stock C6Z is pretty good in my book.

I'm sorry I was thinking the second video was a stock C5 Z06 not a C6 Z06. I guess the first video through me off because that was a C5 Z06. My bad.

Hmmm.

Of course none of us were actually there, but looking @ the end of the 2nd video clip makes me wonder what a quick lane change @ 165mph must feel like in a CL600 or CL65? I see those vehicles entering the roadway.

Hopefully, I'll find out in the very near future...safely, of course!

Here are pics of the cars before and during the race. It is definitely a C6 Z06 and a CL65. LINK The first video in car is a C5 Z06 with a blower. Depending on the setup, between 500 and 800 hp.
