In terms of value and investment... NO CLUE. I would never buy a vehicle as an investment.

Well...I've owned both the CL500 and a CL600 as well as an S55. I prefer the CL to the S models hands down. The S is more practical w/ 4 doors, but the CL just looks much nicer to me. I also notice alot more heads turn driving the CL, whereas the S55 just seemed to be viewed as yet another 4 door Mercedes. Also, I prefer the interior of the CL (the S felt very plain in comparison) and although similar in size, the CL drives like a much smaller car.
As far as depreciation goes....I'm figuring the original owner of my 03 CL600 lost about $70+ grand in 3 years when he traded it in to the dealer.....OUCH...good reason to lease if it is new!!
(I'm calculating an original sticker of at least $130k considering it has every option but heated steering wheel).
I think in comparison, over time the S55 will hold its' value a little better considering the popularity of the "S" badge and the added practicality!

The 911 lost 58% of its' retail in 5 years.
The CL lost 50% of its' in 3 years.
Truth is, the 911 was not a prime example and the CL is pretty high.
