2003 Cl55 Acknowledgment
I place an order for a CL55 in May of 2001. I will be getting the 2003, but has anyone who placed an order received the acknowledgment from their dealer? I have not and they will be building the 4th quarter of this year. Please post as oon as you receive your acknowledgment as I will be doing the same.

Here is what I have heard from either M/B or my dealer...
M/B builds 1000 CL's. It does not seem to matter how many orders they receive. There are 300 Mercedes dealer in the US and so it appears that each dealer should get 3 CL's. The quota that each dealer gets is based upon how many CL's that dealer has sold in the previous year. Soooo not all dealers will get 3 CL's. What gripes my *** is that there are CL's built without regard to orders at M/B and that is why so CL's are available and some orders go unfilled. I asked why M/B can not acknowledge the few orders that they actually get as not all 1000 cars are ordered. They stated that "That is not our practice." I wasa told that they dealers do not get the acknowledgement until the car is scheduled to be built in the quarter and as the 4th quarter is when they build them why have all of us that have ordered cars 18-24 months ago received our reply as this is the 30 day period that they are to be built.

Im in the same boat as you....Ordered in February 2001 from Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel and have yet to hear anything! I called my salesman to ask about this and said I should be recieving it shortly...so i dont know. However, he did tell me that I am scheduled to have my car delivered in February, so only time will tell I guess. Try calling your salesman possibly.....

03 CL55 acknowledgment -I am #1 on the list!!!
I placed a deposit for a 03 CL55 at Mercedes of Sacramento back in And I just spoke with my salesman and he said that they are just waiting to get the allocation for the car, which should be any time. They are scheduled to start building the cars in Sept. which means an Oct-Nov delivery. So I am thinking any time now, I should be getting a phone call to order the options.
I hate the waiting, but its gonna be worth it!

I took delivery of my '02 CL55 at the beginning of July and I had order it in December '01. Even with that, my salesman had to pull some strings with the MB zone rep to get me the car when I did.

I've got a buddy who's had a deposit down since Summer '00 and still hasn't gotten his CL55.
