The shop tried to get the tach lead but after an hour or so they gave up...I was upset but what can you do. The last dyno I had was done by the dealership and 492 RWHP seemed low relative to the mods and to previous dynos on my car, as well I was suspect that the car had an intermittent intercooler pump issue which was just replaced last week. Well the IC pump must have been the issue since it put down 525 RWHP , I am impressed and happy to say the least, now I need to get someone who knows how to dyno my car properly so I can get some torque figures.

Yikes! Watch out for you!

Can't wait for the torque number.

Why'd you use 3rd gear? Not that it really matters because 525 is still 525.

BTW Jason, I ran a 12.18 the other night with only 450rwhp, I bet you run 11.8. Good luck!

"...now I need to get someone who knows how to dyno my car properly so I can get some torque figures."

Call Swift Racing Technologies at 301-982-4600 (495/Route 1) & ask for the Owner Mo. Tell him Marken referred you.

Arent they a Lexus tuner? Anyways, can they properly dyno a Kleemann CLK55 as well?

DFW01E55- I bet he does better than that with some d/r's!

Nice meeting you earlier man, now I get a ride in your
beast.

I didnt even watch the dyno actually or I would have questioned that. The few posts that I researched showed a small difference between 3rd and 4th gear pulls, maybe someone else can shed some light on this?

thanks for the tip, they would have to have intimate experience with a 600, its worth a shot

Ironically I got into the car to take blackbenzz for a spin and I noticed the AC was on lol they did the damn dyno pull with the the AC but im sure its a negligible difference

I agree. It would be fun to be in the stands and listen to people talk about the 11.5 (maybe better) Benz.

3rd gear pulls usually give you better numbers. You want to dyno in the gear that has the closest gear ratio to 1 for accurate reading. I could be wrong.

That theorizing is correct, sir.

They are, sort of. They are really a high performance manufacturer, that happens to be in the Lexus market. As much as I don't want to admit it, if you were going to take a shot w/ anyone around 495, it would be there.

figure out what RPM's you were at at 50,60,70MPH in that gear and we can calculate your torque......

I guess I don't understand how they came up with the horsepower without having the torque number to begin with, since horsepower is an inferred number. Or is there a way of directly measuring horsepower ?

A dyno can make that calculation for you based on how fast it accelerates the drums. HP = torque X RPM/5252. He can also back into the tq number since he knows the hp. All he needs is the rpm/mph with 3rd gear and he can plot the torque.

Those runs I made were very traction limited due to the waterbox spanning the full width of the lane....I gotta get back out there with some traction soon.
