Brakes - tell me about your after market brakes

I have the originals on the car and they need to be replaced.

Has anyone used EBC Reds?

Porterfield R4S?

Any other after market brake experience?

I'm interested in your thoughts on stopping power, sensor interface and dusting.

As I have read here, some guys report that any brake pad other than MB, may make your wear sensors inoperative.

Need to check this out before the install.

I installed Akebono Euro Ceramics 6 weeks ago, they are perfect, no dust, no noise, pedal feels perfect. I bought them from Tirerack.com paid about $150 delivered, had them in 3 days. Sensors retained, everything works perfectly...

"Some guys" must work at MB dealers and enjoy diseminating such inaccurate information. Numerous brake manufacturers supply high quality products that perform flawlessly with sensors. Akebono is a perfect example.

I priced out the porterfields, $380+ for the front set??? I've seen every other pad set for $120 to $220. Any thoughts? Any referals for a better price?

Not after 2004 ... at least I think that was the last year of free maintenance.
