You guys remember Vector from the early 90's? They're back, and founder Gerald Wiegert is now dropping in a 10 liter huge V-8 with twin superchargers or turbo's and the car is producing 1,850 Horsepower and 1,700 lb/ft of torque. It has a sequential 6-speed trans, and can go over 275 MPH they say. This car will spank a Veyron!! Can't wait to see vids of this beast prowling the streets looking to smoke Enzo's, twin turbo domestic hot rods, etc..

Anyone can exract massive amounts of power out of a car-- but making it look nice and comfortable and practical is a whole different story. While Vector succeeded in the power section; they failed where even Honda excelled: looks.
Although that's probably just my opinion...
In any case, with looks that rival a Fiat Doblo and gas mileage that makes you cringe at the pump, you'd have to be an idiot to actually buy it. Give me a Z06 Twin Turbo'd and forget the Vector.

yeah, but it's just a prototype so the real deal will probably look alot better. The original Vector WX8 was wicked looking ... and if Mr. Weigert knows anything at all he had better make the styling and comfort level high....
Damn that's still alot of power though ....

I can see a couple guys on this forum buying one used for less than half price (at 400k brand new, it might drop in value quickly), and then getting the ECU modified to get those twin-turbos or twin-superchargers to put out more power with other mods to get that essentially critical "over 2,000 HP and still not finished modding" threshold overcome.

It looks like a 4th gen Camaro in the front, but I don't think the car is that bad overall. The engine looks pretty low tech to me though.

lol...this time around the Vector may actually be a turbocharged zr1/zo6 . twin garretts and a big block.
but seriously gerry weigart is a master of paper launches and bull**** specs. dont get me wrong...i was a vector w8/wx3 fanatic when i was younger but we'll see how much power it will really put down. they need a transmission that can take that kinda torque and that is no small feat of engineering when even as a supercar this is expected to be a running vehicle at least 75% of the time of ownership.
hopefully it wont be a 3 speed ratchet transmission this time
i like the wx3 body style..should have stuck with it.
