I Finally Saw One
I saw the CL55 Kompresssor today at Park Place Mid-Cities. What an impressive car. I would much rather have one of those than an SL55. Does anyone know the weight difference?

The SL55 weighs in at 4235lbs and the CL55 weighs in at 4080lbs. Therefore the CL55 has a weight advantage of 155lbs .. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
What wheels did the CL55 have ?

I dont remember what wheels because next to it was an '03 CL600 and an "03 S600. The cars were not even prepped yet, still had all the plastic al over and the funny looking wiper blades. I do remember the price tag on the CL600 was over 100K i think it was 130 or so.
I wish the CL55 sat lower it really does sit high. I bet it would perform much better than the SL all across the board if it was a little lower.

True, and I looke dat the wheels again. They look like the S500 sport wheels, five spoke AMG. The other wheels are optional I believe.

As I said in another thread, I've seen 2 CL55s (one on the street, one at the dealer) and both of them have had the twin spoke AMG wheels
They are beautiful cars, and the sound was amazing...

Maybe us here in the U.S. are getting the sort end of stick in regards to the dual spoke wheels.

I got the same color I have now. Plan is that no one notices it's a new car until I pass them.

Still haven't decided 100% if I am going to go through with it. Waiting for the call that it is at the dealer.

Your post above says that it is easy to lower the car. I understand that the ABC can be reprogramed, but that US dealers are reluctant to do so. I looked into this for my 02 and recall that Brabus had some package that lowered the car, but that it was quite expensive. I would like my 03 CL55 lowered to Euro spec version, but do not know who can do it properly if not the dealer for a reasonable price.

03 CL55 specs from MBUSA website:
Coefficient of drag 0.28 Cd
Curb weight 4,255 lb/1,930 kg
A recent auto mag review of the SL 55 talked about a gross weight of more like 4400 lbs based on their measurement, in contrast to factory spec of 4235. Perhaps more interesting is the coefficient of drag of 0.30 Cd (top up) for the SL55 according to the MBUSA website. Although the CL55 is a tenth of a second slower 0 to 60, with the lower drag coefficient, it should do better at speed than the SL 55.

I have been told that if you can get someone with the DAS laptop so adjust the ride height, it is possible as well.
