http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Media/ma...s/magazine.htm

Note that Top Gear solicited two professional drivers to test the cars above and each car's best times are shown. This, like all tests, are very driver-dependent. Someone who's not familiar with a particular car, just isn't going to be as fast in it. As an example, the other driver of the NSX recorded a time of 8m 57.13... but this included a full 360 degree spin where the driver was quoted as saying he never had to take it out of second gear!

Anyone care to argue with this little bit of inf?
Umm.. how come all of the M3's that you are toting as the "pillar" of sports cars, is a rediculously suped up built for the track only race car? This original post started as a "STREET on STREET" car. There is no denying that the BMW is a fantastic track car out of the box, but to say the AMG is not fast? Hold on a sec, I smell What is fast to you? I've run open wheel cars that are the size of go-karts, that would smack the snot out of his M3. What is fast? Straight line fast, light to light fast. You jerked off to hard fast and now you have a headache? What, what is fast. I think my ML63 is fast, for a truck, but I guess I am wrong, and I should make it a snail car..

Exactly, I looked at the pic that Sound8 provided on the "Viper Kill" thread. The problem I have is this, and only Sound8 can clear this up:

1. He said a 1996 M3 dusted him. Why in the world (if that even happened) would you want to post that? It's like admitting you have ED. A 1996 M3? Stock? You mean to tell me you lost to a 12 (13) year old car?

2. The picture he posted has European plates, an admin can quickly (by looking at his IP) tell if that is legit. Hence, the question I asked as to where he was located. We can easily find all information on him for verification.

3. Why in the hell would you come to a MB forum to bash MB's, and say they suck, and you own four of them? Very expensive one's at that. It makes no sense. All of Sound8's post are bashing MB's all the way around. That is not what people join MBWorld to do, and I am pretty sure all including admins/owners/sponsors would agree.

3. Daily, I can understand you posting a point and yes they said the MB was sloppy with understeer/oversteer on the video. I saw it back some time ago, but why are you ranting and raving? You can clearly state your case without all the insults or jeers. IMO.

Like I and other mentioned, this whole thread all the others that Sound8 has here on MBWorld seem to be trolling at it's finest. Comments anyone? Agree?

Totally agree. Why would you spend 300k in AMG's, bash them and then say, nah nah nah nah, my M3 is soooooooo much better. Douche Bag.. Where did that tool box go anyway. BTW, what kind of car have you built lately!?>?!?. Boo hOOO. I built a Cessna 182 once. My father and I and a friend. That was interesting as hell!

I never bashed mercedes. I simply said that they do not handle as well as a BMW and that it is not only possible but probable that any mercedes would lose to an M on a technical track. Now since no one likes to read I posted those # because one of you claimed that the Merc. DTM edition would be fatser than the M which IT CLEARLY IS NOT!!!!!!! That was only there to back up what I was saying with actual proof not conjecture like most of you!!!!! The top gear video shows that a STOCK M3 was faster than the C63around the track (some of you used that show to try to back up your ridiculous claims thinking that I was a NOOB). Now they didn't even test the new csl which is even faster around the corners!!! I have said numerous times that Mercedes makes the ultimate in LUXURY ROCKETS. I never bashed them at all. I simply said that they do not handle any where near as good as an M nor do they give the drivers that feeling of confidence that is paramount when pushing a car. Twist this any way that you guys want to but I posted up FACTS and NOT ONE OF YOU HAS DONE THE SAME.
Now to the guy that built the plane; thats sounds like an awsome project that you undertook. I would love to hear more about it as I know nothing about what goes into that but that would be hijacking this thread so I think that you should start a new thread so that people like me could learn from your experiences. There is a big cross over between the two and if you have the time I would love to go over foil design and the most efficent placement of said foil. Now if I am comming off as a bit confrontational that that is only because unlike the people in this thread I do not play the e-tough guy game nor do I insult people in an open forum for no reason. I posted facts and was retourted buy people acting like children calling my maturity in to question (and age). If that had never gone down like that than this would have of remaind a civil conversation. I love how no one says anything to the ones that talked all that junk but yet you guys are getting on me. What a bunch of hypocrites!!!

Just to be clear I do not know sound 8. I was not even backing him up as much as I was backing up BMW (I have owned several Mercedes and still own one now; so I was speaking from real world experiences)and trying to stop some of you from looking like fools. Either way I see that this is never going to end so I will let you guys have fun with this. Until some FACTS ARE POSTED to contridict what I posted I am out of this have a blast guys!!!!!

Any rants here, not just yours are displays of bad etiquette. That was to all. Ok fine, you posted numbers and facts but calm down.

Let's not digress off the issue at hand. The OP listed some craziness, and has been bashing MB's all over the place on this forum. All of it is trolling and suspect, it has nothing to do with you or your posts. It's in bad taste that Sound8 is doing this on an MB Forum. I think all even you can agree on this.

Again my own last post, I took the section off on you:

1. He said a 1996 M3 dusted him. Why in the world (if that even happened) would you want to post that? It's like admitting you have ED. A 1996 M3? Stock? You mean to tell me you lost to a 12 (13) year old car?

Like I said I do not know anything about sound 8 and if he is indeed doing what you all are claiming than yes I can agree with most of you. That being said it does not justify the way that people were acting towards me. Do what you will to sound 8 but don't put me in that burning building with him o.k. . Well now that that's over later guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. Out of all the "luxury" sports cars that I've owned, F's, P's, AMG's, I've never actually owned an M. Driven them. Love them, never owned one. Not sure why though..

prob because you have owned an F-car, & a p-car so there was no reason to get an M (IMHO). To be honest I was looking at an SV8 but I got the M for a great price and once it was home the modifications began. Yes I could have of bought an F-car for the money that is invested in the M but the satifaction that I have from building the car can not be put in words. I like to tinker with my toys so a F-car (besides I don't fit in them 6'3" 220lbs) was out of the question and unless it is a dp p-cars don't do it for me either.

Now as I stated that in a staight line the mercedes has the advantage. I know that this is a mercedes site but come on guys things like power to weight ratio, suspension setups and the like play a much bigger role than how much power you are putting down!!! Here is a pic of one of my M's. care to say that any of your cars with nore HP could out handle this even in race form?????????????????????? Now I am not defending this guy so much as to say that some of you guys really have no right to give this guy crap since those individuals have no idea about cars and how they perform (especially BMW's)!!!!!!!!! Don't be one of those guys that people look at and say of look just because he drives a benz HE THINKS HE IS KING S@#$. Just a little info for you guys BMW is returning to ALMS with the new M and well WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME THEY WERE THERE. THEY DESTROYED EVERYTHING AND THAT'S FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to agree with everything daily is saying......Sorry guys but he I 100% right about the M vs AMG.
That being said for street purpose the AMG will out right kill the M's.
Benz has on average more HP in there cars then BMW.

MB is not truly compareable to BMW and vice versa.
BMW makes better racers
MB makes better everyday cars. Both awsome cars, but each are a little better at what they do. So each car has its own buyer.

Now about the original post..... I still feel like smacking him cus he started the thread saying what a disapointment the AMG is...WHAT!!!!!
Daily you said it your self the M out handle the AMG's but this guy never said anything about roundabouts in the O post. He him self doesnt know enough about cars to make such a dumb statement that he got beat.
Of course you got beat AMG's are to stun people with looks and then blast off leaving you awe struck. Thats why you run and tell your friends what you just saw. Not to out handle an M. His Complaint is not justified.

sound 8 power and handling

No need to check my plates I live in the U.K Mercedes are for straight line speed,
BMW are for handling..........FACT !!
I still prefer Merc,s.
If you think you can do better , challenge an M3 to a track day.
It does not matter which AMG you have, the M3 will beat you.
On a drag straight the AMG will win, horses for courses!!!
In fact if you look at the Top Gear lap times, you will see the only
Merc which has a fast lap time is the Mclaren SLR. Note how quick
the BMW 535D does. This was quicker than a SL55.

So you admit you're first post in this thread was BS?

I notice that your stable of cars has grown since you started this thread. Mummy and daddy picked up some new cars?

I doubt you or your family have any of those cars and I doubt you live in the UK... You definitely weren't educated in the UK

Good catch, his post was on STRAIGHT LINE, not handling. I mentioned it earlier, a quick IP check from an admin will tell where he is.

Problem is, as I see it, AMG defines straight line performance, right?

M? Sure, you can all argue about the twisties, but lets pair a M3 against a Cayman S and see who's driving around who?

Either way, I like both, no need to post in ALL CAPS, ranting and raving. Hell, I have a 328i 6-speed to satisfy my shifting needs (and all those twisties in Chicago streets! ) And man...do I want that new E92 M3...

sound 8 again

The long knives are out for me, I insulted the AMG name!!
The trouble is that some of you big AMG car owners, are so up your own
exhuast pipes you don't accept there are other great cars out there.
My CL65 is the best car I have ever owned, it's smooth, quiet, very fast
and looks good. I bought a CLK63 last year, but it's not great for looks,
the new M3 coupe is superb looking, but the CLK drove better. People
with a more open mind will agree with me. There is no problem to worship
your car just don't get so blinkered. So I didn't get by a M3, but it does not matter what you drive, if you are running a maniac who endangers other
road users as well as himself and you, he will win.I am not a dangerous driver
and I expect someday I will get passed by another maniac hell bent to beat
a CL65. That's the trouble, on an open freeway or motorway you can exploit
the 65 full potential, on a twisty road forget it, unless you want to wind up wrapped round a tree.

The problem is that you didn't give all of the information regarding the "race" such as the roundabout and that your story is full of inconsistencies.

sound 8 story

If I told the whole story it would have taken a very long time.
Doesn't any body listen, sure the other guy was driving like a maniac,
but I still felt the 65 would catch him quicker between roundabouts.
I wanted to show him my rear, a great feeling but I didn't, that's why I
wrote what I did. The CL65 may be an iconic car, that's half the reason
I chopped the CLK in for it. But believe me it doesn't feel that much quicker
than the SL55 and in some respects the S600. Ask someone who has had
a re-map or chip change to give another 30-50 hp how long before they
can't feel the extra, not long, then your looking for more. At the end of the day if you have 500hp and you meet another car around the same weight
with the same bhp it's going to be close. If you meet someone with 500hp
that's nearly half your weight...say goodbye.

Sound 8, I dont get it:confused,
First I dont think that there is anyone here that blindly see's AMG only as the best car out there. Yes other cars are great, but that's not the point here.
You came to here to say that your CL65 isn't all that.

The point everyone is making here is how the heck is it not possible to beat an M3 with SOOOOO much more power?

Like we said you didnt say anything about a round about. We all know that AMG cars will be out handled by M cars. But you were complaining about the proformance without full discloser. Anyone with an M knows that they can out handle an AMG but they also know stock to stock the AMG's will eat them straight.

So what is your point?
