Note that Top Gear solicited two professional drivers to test the cars above and each car's best times are shown. This, like all tests, are very driver-dependent. Someone who's not familiar with a particular car, just isn't going to be as fast in it. As an example, the other driver of the NSX recorded a time of 8m 57.13... but this included a full 360 degree spin where the driver was quoted as saying he never had to take it out of second gear!

There is a big cross over between the two and if you have the time I would love to go over foil design and the most efficent placement of said foil. Now if I am comming off as a bit confrontational that that is only because unlike the people in this thread I do not play the e-tough guy game nor do I insult people in an open forum for no reason. I posted facts and was retourted buy people acting like children calling my maturity in to question (and age). If that had never gone down like that than this would have of remaind a civil conversation. I love how no one says anything to the ones that talked all that junk but yet you guys are getting on me. What a bunch of hypocrites!!!

In fact if you look at the Top Gear lap times, you will see the only
Merc which has a fast lap time is the Mclaren SLR. Note how quick
the BMW 535D does. This was quicker than a SL55.
