Question for 2003 CL55 owners

Basically the gasket is about 20" long and is located right at the leading edge of the front hood. If you look at the grill where the star is and move your eyes down 4 inches, you will see the black runnber gasket on the hortizontal plane of the hood if it is there. If it is not, you will see where the hood has a bunch of scalop shapped ridges.
Please let me know. Here is a picture to help locate it. The red ring is showing where it is and the arrow is pointing to it. You need to open the hood and look under to see it.
BTW, the car is awesome. The throttle response and the exhaust note are a vast improvement over the normally aspirated motor.

I can tell you, it has been hard to stick to the rev restrictions in the manual.

No gasket. Just scalloped edge. Looks like it should have a gasket though. What is the name of the builder of your motor?
I can't read the name of the builder on my plaque. Here is a picture of it however ( https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...&postid=238351 ) .
Who built yours ?

The part # is A 215 889 00 98 . Most dealers will not have this part in stock and will need to order it. The price is approx. $10.00 USD.
