Thinking about picking up a CL55K

Hi all, I stumbled across this CL55 with a deal that I honestly can't resist. It's an 03 with 150,000KMS on it. Should I go for a high mileage CL55? I know the owner, this old person he just got a new CL550. Also, does the passenger seat headrest move down when no one is sitting in it? I'm going tomorrow morning to look at it to see if it's good in person, I'm excited I can't sleep!

As an owner of a CL55 about to cross 80,000 miles (130000 KM) I say go for it! I would check in how recently he did the brakes and if he has replaced the tire pressure sensors. Also, I have not had any problems with it, but a lot of people have had problems with the air suspension, which can be maybe 3-4K to fix. I suppose you could see if he has had that repaired at all. As for the front headrests, they move when you control them but I have not noticed any movement by itself when the seat is empty. Like most Mercedes cars, the rear headrests drop down for when no one is sitting in back.

After viewing the car on two different occasions and a small test drive I've decided to go for it. The car's background checks out clean. I'll be going tomorrow morning to negotiate the price because the asking price is still a little high for that many KMS on the car. If all goes well I'll be a proud new owner of a CL55 AMG!
Thanks for your reply!

Good luck on future purchase.
Have the ABC checked out and see if the Supercharger pulley & bearings are good and not making any noise.

check out the intercooler pump. Visor mirrors can break and motor mounts wear out fast. worth having exteneded warranty, even though these cars are well built.

Thanks raff

The dealing is still not done, the car is not in the best shape as I thought but still not bad at all for 150,000kms. Dealer is only going down a few hundred... Going back tomorrow morning and not leaving empty handed this time. Wish me luck.

there's so much luxury inside including the pulsing seats and I JUST found this out, the rear view mirror (the one in the car) is memorized and saved to my memory! The rear headrests automatically go up too, passenger seat headrest moves down on it's own when no one is sitting in it. Still learning....

Oh man good times... I've put 70,000 kms on this car since I bought it.

Problems so far:

1) Sometimes: car bounces randomly left side
2) primary cat blew
3) steering rack cracked leaking ABC fluid + bad tie rod ends
4) IC pump broke
5) SRS light on - passenger seat sensor problem
6) Passenger side front strut leaking ABC fluid
7) headlight ballast fried
8) Transmission plug connector started leaking oil
9) TCU locked up in limp mode
10) Supercharger bearing broke
11) Sometimes: mysterious, unsolveable bad idle, ESP unavilable, no paddle response problem
12) Sometimes: Engine will not start, will after 3-4 tries (not CPS)
13) Sometimes: COMAND will not start or play sound
14) Supercharger idle pulley bearing broke
15) Belt(S) really squeaky during cold starts, goes away when warm
16) Rear left wheel bearing gave out

Still love the car!

Glad you still love the care. I saw the other post you wrote up.
As for the passenger side head rest, if the memory is set on that side, it will go up or down depending on what it was set on.
