On the contrary. We have tremendous respect for those owners with higher mileage AMGs. Gives those of us with lower mileages some confidence. Ordinarily cars like AMGs should be long term ownership prospects but fear of heavy repair bills forces many to sell on early. Shame that, because there's a grand old man I know whose 300SEL 6.3, which he bought used in 1972, is still going strong. Like him, I intend to keep my 06 e55 for a quite a while yet...

mileage is way over rated. some think they will not have problems with the same 06 car that has 30k miles vs one that has 70k. No difference at all, they both are a crap shoot with equal expense on repairs. Sweet steal of a 65

lol 20k mile car
tx guys for the comments....

VERY TRUE.....THIS CAR WAS BASHED FOR THE MILEAGE....2 members wind up buying lower mile cars and having a slew of issues....after passing up my car.....

So I said screw it...and kept it....14k miles later ZERO PROBLEMS....

fact is ....it isnt just that the cars need to be driven and more miles mean less problems to be worried about due to the fact the cars corrupt sitting still....but how the car was treated when the miles were put on with the last owners.....

I have seen a few 15-18k mile CL65 and S65's THAT were in horrible condition and were in and out of service.......

You no why you have no problems?

Probably because you drive the car like it was built and meant to be driven!

I remember a guy talking about buying a CL65 for his stay at home wife.....LMAO.....REALLY!?! That is some serious
640 hp for a housewife!!! Unless her name is Danica Patrick, that is a pathetic waste of a great car.

How on earth could a stay at home mom EVER use a CL65 the way it was supposed to be used?
Picking up groceries and drivng the kids to soccer practice!?!

Everyone wants to HAVE a high horsepower whip, but not everyone wants to DRIVE a high hp whip the way it should be driven - HARD!

Why do they think it's called a WHIP?

I guess some ppl just want to look cool from afar, but they are - far from cool.

I'm not sayin' there are some stupid mufuggas out there - but when I hear some of the stuff they come up with - I feel like a mufugging GENIUS!

Enjoy your 'ride' man and continue to smack the taste out of a poseurs mouth.

The 05 CL65'S = great performance bargain for under 45k
but another car with great performance and a back seat is the Nissan GT-R
you can pick these up for hi 50's on the 09's. 2 of the best performance car bargains out there.

Did you launch with ESP off? Have a LSD?

esp off --- no LSD
the car looks and runs like a new car... gets a ton of looks i noticed now...they havent built that CL class in 5 years and there are hardly around anymore...less the 3500 CL's are built yearly for all models.... 6000-7000 zo6's are built yearly as an example of the rarity....

1400 CARRERA GT's were built....only 185 CL65'S 2005-2006

Nice numbers! It really is crazy how cheap these are getting, there's a clean one in FL right now for 32k on autotrader...and a decent one (horrible kinda-AMG replicas) for 34k. Really love these cars. +1 on the location...also what were conditions like?

In fact you are the stupid mufugga. Care to explain how a car that isn't driven "hard" will develop more problems.

I'll wait

lol I see your point but it can happen to a car that has been set for a very long time, seals fall apart. suspension drops and what not but still it wont fall apart faster than a car that is driven hard!!

notice i didn't say a car that wasn't "driven". Sure I can agree that cars that are used regularly tend to develop fewer problems than cars that constantly sit for long periods of time.

But driving a car hard, i.e hard cornering, braking, high revs, and high engine loads will simply wear parts out faster. Most of the stuff that breaks on these cars is electrical bs anyways.

Finally, these are not 60s alfa romeos with carburetors that run like crap at part throttle and need to be driven at WOT to clean out the cylinders (i.e. italian tune up). The a/f is well controlled at all load and throttle openings.

in other words, he is fos.

Actually, most of what breaks is hydraulic.

Ifari's point isn't that you need to beat the crap out of the car, it's that you need to drive it rather than keep it as a garage queen. From personal experience, I agree.

abc is but one part of the car.

And driving the car HARD is not doing the suspension any favors.
