2003 CL55 key will not turn in ignition
2003 mercedes cl55 amg key will not turn in ignition.
Problem started last week, i could not get key to turn in ignition first thing in the morning, however later on in the afternoon the car started. I thought it was a battery issue so i got the battery replaced. When i replaced the battery the key would still not turn in ignition. I then noticed that the clock and gear display on right side of dash was blank.

I replaced the car battery, and i got a replacement key made.....the key still does not lock or unlock vehicle, i used blade to open door and i placed key in ignition but was still unable to turn key in ignition. PLEASE ADVISE

It is weird because the car starts fine later on in the afternoon. that is why i thought it was a battery issue. I got a new car battery but the problem still exists. It must be something temperature related. I just have no idea what it is. I just tried to start it again and now it is giving me 3 error messages. ESP BAS ABS errors

I understand that the brake light switch might be causing the ABS/ESP/BAS error, But would it also cause the key not to turn in the ignition. Keep in mind that the key does turn when the weather is warmer. Could this be a problem with the EIS? but if so then why does it work every time the weather is warmer than 75 degrees

i had the same exact problem and now i cant even get the car to start. I replaced the battery and now the alarm just turns on and the car wont let me start it. I have no clue what to do

id have to guess its the EIS . my 2001 E55 would start though when the brake lamp switch was bad it just wouldn't let me put the car into drive period. obviously you have to press the brake to drive the car so when that switch goes bad the car has no clue your hitting the brakes so it won't release the shifter then guess what your ****ed. its a corny little plastic switch located under the dash. thank god i have a real friend who happens to work at benz and had one of these on another car he was doing a side job on or i would have been screwed that night. if you know what your doing the brake lamp switch takes about 15 minutes to install.
