CL600 Akebono brake pads

I found akebono brake pads at tirerack and ordered two sets (front+rear).

It turns out that 'rear' brake pads do not fit (they are touching the sensor which turns on the warning light) and I ended up not having them installed. Front ones work great - squeaking is gone and braking as smooth as ever (and no brake dust to boot).

Has anyone had a similar issue with akebono brake 'rear' brake pads?

I just put new Akebono "Euro" brake pads from tirerack on 05 CL65 front and rear, didn't encounter any problems.

I have em on my CL55. No fitting problems, no sound, no dust at all. Good braking. Great pads.

Can you post where you got them from and product code? Maybe I got the wrong part. I am sure that I ordered the correct part but tirerack's invoice is a bit cryptic. Now that noise from the front is gone, I am in no rush to replace the rear pads (still have about 70% left on the MB original pads).

Agreed, completely dust free AND squeak free.

Are you using the AKEBONO Pad wear sensors or OEM sensors? I ask because I remember a figment issue with a past CLK of mine and we had to use the OEM sensor.
Also, the "Euro" pads have fit my CLK and now my S600 with no issue.
Maybe they sent you the wrong part number.....I would double check with them.

They are OEM sensors. I must have gotten the wrong part or it was listed wrong in the catalog which of course did not help when I called customer service to exchange it. I will look for another place that carries them.

Please post the right part numbers when you get them, we could use the correct info.

Thanks

I am a bit curious as to what part numbers you used on your 2003 CL600. I am an Akebono distributor and as I was checking for the correct rear part number I noticed that Akebono does not list front pads for the 2003-2006 CL600. The rear part number is EUR984 and is listed as fitting 2003-2006 CL600, CL55 & 2005-6 CL65. I checked with the factory and there are no known fitment issues with the EUR984 rear application.
