Happy owner of a CL65
I picked up my CL65 in Atlanta on Sunday and all I can say is that it is AWESOME!!! I'm in the middle of meshing work with pleasure and have been taking customer meetings on my way back to Wisconsin. The portion of the drive between Atlanta and Chattanooga TN on Sunday evening was quite the rush.
Thanks board member canes85, so far the car is great.

Congrats, it sounded like you had a chance to really enjoy your new ownership with some nice highway cruising across the country. I'm sure you had a chance to realize how getting into triple digits is effortless for the car. In case its not enough power (like your sig Olds) you'll find a tune will do alot and also give a much better throttle response. At the end of the day its a great everything car as long as there are no sharp turns. Enjoy it!!!

Its a pretty simple recipe:
1. Eurocharged ECU/TCU. (good guys to deal with)
2. Supplemental H/E and replaced the stock intercooler pump with a Johnson CM-30. (both of which could be done from underneath without removing the bumper).
3.BMC drop in air filters.
Best time was on M/T ET streets. The 11.34 was on Michelin PS2s.
The car still maintains all its stock looks and characteristics until you start to push it and then the power is there when you want it.

Congrats Petej sounds like you got a great deal especially with the warranty!
Racehorse thanks for the info. How much power do you think the BMC filters added. What track did you run those times at? I like the short list of mods, still keep the car close to stock while just giving it a little edge.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ..they run stock low 11's
I have run a 11.2@122mph stock in my 100k mile CL65
and I ran a 11.3@123 mph stock in a S65 I use to have.
Both cars were on street tires.
Since they are hand built there is various degrees of power between them. I have been in ones that were slow and ones that will spin at 70 mph stock. My car with
100k miles spins the stock rear tires on dry pavement at 60mph with ease. And according to the local benz mechanic I go to. I was told my car trumps a 46k mile TUNED CL65 for performance and tightness and feel. So again each car is different.
And I have had many other 65's as well. They are all individual like women you might say.
These cars have almost 800 lbs of torque stock and are the most powerful production car in the world that can be driven with absolute reliability and
function and comfort.
In all the 65's and AMG's I have owned I have yet to spend anything on ABC repairs or anything outside of maintenance. They do everything a Ferrari does and everything a Bentley does and more at a purchase and maintenance cost just ridiculous to marvel. They are stupid cheap and they deserve not to be even with 300k miles on them.
Torque moves mass not HP
They are supremely engineered and over engineered
Only morons pass on the purchase and grand ownership of one of these insane cars to rather buy a Camaro SS or Mustang or anything else like even a EVO or a SRT8.

All kidding aside I'll return the favor and let you take a pass with me in my cutlass to let you see what a 1.2XX 60' time feels like (translates to about 1.8-1.9 seconds 0-60

Regarding the upgrades I spoke with Marchin and the guys from Kleemann and I'm debating on which tune to go with. SpeeDriven, Kleemann and Eurocharged are tops on the list. Before I go and add more power I need to see how the car responds to a good set of street tires, I've got those on order now (I decided on a set of Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position tires in the stock 19" size). For the track I'll be using MT ET Drag Radials.
Knowing how easy it is to light this car up I'm thinking that a Kleemann LSD may be the first thing I do. Every video I see from these cars at the track has some bit of tire spin, unless they have some sort of locking diffrential. I know from experience, a few slips of the tire are hard to detect to the casual drag racer but they cost you a significant amount in the 60'.

What octane tune were you using, 91, 93, 100? What what type of gas did you use?

Last time i checked I was not retarded.
Run out the door fellow members and go enjoy that AMG. This forum may be making you narcissistic.
