I had this problem. Service manager told me that a cable broke and had to be replaced.
Note: I have the automatic trunk open/close option

Had similar problem w/ my cl55. Got it back from the dealer and the trunk wouldn't open remotely. Brought it back to the dealer and they had to replace the actuater (sp?) -- whatever that is. They did it under good will, so I didn't have to pay and supposedly the parts were $2k.

Do you where the part was located? Because I'm not getting any error codes and it just seems like the truck dose not want to unlatch? You can hear the lock open and close but dose not unlock? So might be the cabel?
Thanks
Alex.

Search the forum. Common issues. Usually the pneumatic actuator located behind the trunk-lid lining.
If this is the case, your metal key blade will allow you to unlock and open the trunk.

Alex,
Mine was doing the same thing, where you could here it trying to open remotely but it wouldn't open. As awiner suggested, I used the manual key to open it. The trunk was still pressing down on me while I opened it manually, and then about half way up, it releases as normal and you can use the button on the trunk to auto close it -- but it still would not open remotely. I tried replacing the fuse in the back seat, didn't work and the dealer ended up fixing and replacing the actuator.
