ESP completely off??

Just got my 2009 CL63 and even tho I have owned a few Amgs and different Mercs before I cannot figure out how to turn off the ESP completely on the CL.. In my cars i have had before I could choose to have esp ON - half off (pressing the button quickly) - completely off (when I held the esp button down for 3-5seconds).
On my CL I have only found the on & half off modes..

I saw one review of the CL where they said that the ESP cant be turned off please tell me that isnt true!!???

Not sure about the CL but in my 211 E class I could go through the menu in the instrument cluster and put the car in dyno mode which would turn the ESP off completely.

Using the ESP button only reduces the amount of ESP involvement by a certain percentage. It does not totally disable it 100%.

Only putting the car in dyno mode will disable ESP (as well as ABS and BAS).

Would you run a CL down the track in dyne mode or with ESP off only?

Dyno mode shuts down three systems. ESP, ABS and BAS. You cant choose just one. It's all three or nothing.

I understand that. When you drag your car should you be in DYNO mode only for the burnout or keep it in dyno mode when you make your pass as well?

On my CL if you hit the ESP button to turn it off it still intervenes if you let the tail slide out "a little too much" which I like to do every once in a while. It bugs the crap out of me. So does this mean most other amgs have the ESP completely off mode but the CL does not? Whats the point in that??? Such a nice car but this is a big minus in my book...

Follow up question. How do I put my car in dyno mode when I wanna have a little fun and can this damage my car in any way?

you do not want a single wheel burn out which is what will happen if you shut off esp. remember- all cl cars have an open diff. you can modulate with the brake to have both wheels spinning, but i do not recommend.

the sl65 is the only v12tt car with factory lsd

Thanks for the info, I didn't know. But still.. Why would you need to COMPLETELY disable it?

Drifting for example... Not that Id do that on a normal road... Or to have fun on a closed parking lot (fishtailing a bit more than what the car allows me now)...

Still don't get it! I drift, and a LOT but I just hit the ESP button and the car starts dancing!! I always thought that it disables completely when I hit the ESP button, because the CL doesn't have an "ESP SPORT"

You must be dancing walse. I dance tango... Just kidding, heard that in a movie. Try (somewhere safe) to spin 180degrees and you will see the esp intervene.

Funny thing a few years back I had a 2009 C63 and on that one you could turn esp completely off. Now I have a 2009 CL63 (same engine too) and I only have esp on and esp sport modes on this car. I love the car but im a bit disappointed in this esp issue.
