In need of a stock subwoofer
So the previous owner of my car ripped apart the stock subwoofer for some reason. I didnt notice till a week after I bought the car. I figured he had a sound system before because theres Dynamat behind the trunk license plate. Now Im left with no base): Im in need of a stock sub, new or used. Can anyone help me out on where to find one? Ebay has a sub but its for an 01 02.

Yes that would be great! I listen to music a lot and not having a sub really sucks): I was thinking about putting in a after market sub woofer but I want to keep it oem. My mom has a 04 clk and I love how the stock system sounds. Plus I heard putting in a sound system can mess up the cars electronics...

I found it this morning, pm with your shipping info so I can get a quote on that.
I replaced mine with aftermarket when I had my CL, didn't have any problems.

JL Sub
Sounds great but the trick was making the face plate as there is no kits made for our cars last time i checked. Now everything is JL audio and i have all steering controls working with this system. Total cost $4k if you do it yourself.
JL dealer asked for $7900. Well worth it as labor was very intense.

Holly Molly thats a lot of $, as i only plan to change the sub i hope to avoid all the extra work and cost, so I guess there is no way to fit an aftermarket sub (even if the same size) without making the face plate, i.e. some sort of custom mount.
Sorry if dumb question, the electorincs and audio is the one thing i dont know anything about in cars.

Look into a 10" shallow sub free air so you don't need to build a box. they are out there for around $100 or so. don't get a powerful one as your amp is not to strong. but should sound much better then stock. i changed the whole thing as i could not stand that BOSE.
their home systems are 100 times better. SL has much better sound then CL. they have subs under the seats and they hold better on the low end as the car is a convertible.
i would also change the two little twitters on the top of the door as the system is not put out enough highs $30-$50. and you should hear a good improvement. Good Luck
any other ??? you can call me 954 701-6697 Tony.
