Car idles too 4000 rpm on Park and Neutral!

So after washing my car and cleaning it, I took it out to get lunch and when I parked and put it in P the car started to rev up too 4 rpm then I put it back on drive and it went back down and when I put it in neutral it did the same and went back up to 4000 rpm. Someone tell me what's going please! I'm freaking out right now):

Did you wash the engine bay as well?

If the CL55's have map sensors then the leak will be after the throttle body. A line might of popped off.

No I didn't, I noticed the car rolls faster too when I have my foot of the gas and brake. I talked to some people and they said it might be the throttle sensor or peddle sensor? I just hope it nothing major. I have to wait till monday to bring it to a local shop I go to.

OP check to make sure your throttle body isn't stuck open or your throttle cable is hung up, and just do a general look around the engine bay to see anything unusual or a vacuum line popped off.

The reason why it rolls faster once you take your foot off the brake pedal is because its wanting to accelerate to 4000rpm right away. It has nothing to do with your car actually being faster LOL.

Your tps might need to be looked at. There is also the gas pedal sensor. Make sure there is nothing jamming your gas pedal (floormats and the like).

Your car needs to be read to see if anything out of the ordinary is logged.

Ideally I would begin by relearning the tps via das.

So I dropped off my car today to my mechanic and he hooked the car up to the computer and it turns out that the memory from the ecu or something was messed up. He said the cause of the problem is because I have the stereo turned on when the car is off so its sucking all the power out and draining the memory or something like that. He basically restarted the system and now its back to normal and drives fine. Sorry Im not so detail about what happened, was just glad it wasn't anything major.

I honestly don't know the complete detail but all I know is that he reseted the system because it lost some memory. Sorry I couldn't fully answer your question. The thing that got me thinking is that I've always listen to music with other cars without the engine on and nothing like this happened but I guess its reasonable because our cars have a lot of electronics, buttons and stuff like that so I can understand why the power can be drained and the car can lose its memory.

Just gessing if the battery may be at fault; how olds the battery, and if its not oem is it the correct reserve capacity.
