My New Daily

Picked it up a week ago and I love it.

2013 Smart ForTwo Pure Coupe. It's perfect for around-town errands, and makes driving the CL more special. At $99 per month, it was a no-brainer! I'm averaging close to 40 mpg

That's cool and it's as much as a phone bill. Like you said, no brainer. Are you gonna Brabus it out like you did with the CL?
I was actually, last fall, considering importing an 01 W168 A Class lol. Just for the reasons that; I have never actually seen one in the US, and that is pretty much a Smart Car with Mercedes badges on it.
Has anyone ever seen an A Class (any generation) State-side?
The brand new ones look sweet, especially the A45 AMG

Yeah. Although the aftermarket reach is infinitely times larger than for our cars.

I mean hell, for $488 you can get a Carlsson quad exhaust, rear diffuser AND front lip spoiler

Once many years ago I saw a W168 A Class on the streets of San Francisco. I didn't get a chance to get a picture but it was sure unique. I'm not sure if it had legit US tags or if it's just someone visiting from Mexico where those cars were sold.

I've seen them in Southern California, and I think there was a very small run of electric or fuel cell retrofits...

That's awesome.
See what I mean! Something relatively cheap to buy overseas that would be very unique to have over here. Especially is modded right, and tastefully, thing would be such a pimp lil car lol

@OCK - Damn Can't even get whole set of TPMS from dealer at that price for these CLs!

Oh right it may be a fuel cell thing. It could've also been a corporate car with corporate plates.

I know they've got the same fuel cell deal going on with the B Class right now as well.

AMG GTS
I'm from the UK and the A Class was very popular for a while. Always fancied one for the wife, but everyone I knew that owned one complained about build quality and they had lots of niggling issues.
looked kind of cool though.

I always wanted to bring a nice E Class wagon diesel over to the US, they are everywhere in the uk and good for mid to high 30 MPG's. right hand drive would be a killer though.

Nice pick up OCK,

I was considering the smart deal also, just to get around the city with. You need to get wheels and drop at least.... Lol

I've seen quite a few A class here in Boston, people tend to make the drive from Canada

A Classes aren't sold in Canada. Are you sure you're not talking about the B Class?

I test drove one and the dynamics did not inspire me one bit. IMO this thing is downright dangerous at highway speeds.

The fuel economy is also not impressive. There are plenty real cars that do better than the smart.

It does look cool in a cute way, but I don't think I will be driving one any time soon.

And merc a class is nothing like the smart. It is a real car. I drove a diesel one in France a couple years ago and I wanted to take the thing stateside

I mean, I feel the smart really does fill the void where the A Class would go in the US. Not the brand new one's.
If they weren't made and rooted by the same company, they'd 100% be each other's rival/competition. Even the layout I found very similar. But that's my opinion.
And I agree with the last statement. I want one in the US as well
And as far as smart, I've never seen a smart Roadster in the US either lol that'd be cool.

Are you serious! Drive your other car and this one off a cliff or return it please.
Maybe in the UK but not necessary in the United Sates.

How can you go from this to an AMG.

Nice! I was also really thinking about getting one for a daily driver. Can't beat it for $99 a month! I would of gone with the matte grey, some black wheels and a dark tint

Ended up getting an older 4x4 pick up...we have some rough winters here in the northeast so 4x4 is nice to have. I'm sure it would do alright with some snow tires lol.
