CL65 Disguised?

look at the areas they have covered, and note the license plate... Could it be a CL65? teh side lettering looks too small to be V8 kompressor, so V12 Bi-Turbo?

the wheels do not appear to be the same ones (i.e., the ones on the CL65) as shown on the MB website.

The wheels could be standard 18 inch wheels, and the wheels that were shown on the MB website and at the auto shows could be optional 19 inch rims

Those are wider than the standard wheels - notice how the spokes are inset on the rear. The standard wheels have flush spokes front and rear. CL65 is a good guess.

Those are just the normal staggered setup of the AMG 5-Spoke 215 rim that was available as a 19" option on the Euro 2001-2002 models.

The think I find interesting is the piece of the bumper just behind the rear wheel. What is that ?

Adam, your right, that piece looks strange. Guys I bet this is probably definitely one of teh first prototypes that AMG lends to Mr. Bruhnke to test out on his way home and to work Compare with this picture and the license plate, (55 vs. 65 above.) BTW these pictures were taken in the car park of AMG...

Bilal, if you see the supposed 65 again, just look at the dash. In the tachometer area it should say /////AMG v12 Bi-Turbo .

Adam, no chance of that now back in the Uk!. I am pretty sure it was a 65, since the '55's had all lettering displayed or in some cases removed, but why this car had it covered?

You are right there would be no reason to cover it up why cover up the Regular Badgeing it was the Cl65 for sure it still would have been one hell of a shot if you got the tape off. The wheels look ok but I perfer the pictures they showed on the website.
