Talking Dyno!

Just had Southern Hotrod (http://www.southernhotrod.com/) rebuild and beef up my tranny and had protorque (http://www.protorque.com/) rebuild my converter and put a 3000k stall on it. This thing launches HARD now!

Here's my dyno:

This year I plan on getting a tune and next year my plan is turbos and intercoolers.

No, that's why there isn't a tq number on the right of the graph. They didn't have a pickup to get the tq. Now, with a stall it does multiply tq, but I'm probably in the 600 range if I had to guess.

I have custom made billet 3k convertors in stock.
3000 stall converter for street or strip
11" diameter vs stock 12"
10 lbs lighter than stock to reduce rotating mass
triple lock up clutch
high performance pump and bearings
all new and no core charges!
Whole new unit not made from cutting up a stock convertor

Your worst nightmare...
^^could you please say if the converter actually helps in the 60 foot? Has any of the cars you sold converters to act funny in the 1/4.

I have a 3K stall from Pro torque and its definitely acting funny. Shifting is not done properly and it appears I can not use Manual mode as it confuses the tranny.

Sorry to thread jack, carry on.

Any plans on hitting the strip? What did the rebuild from southernhotrod consist of? I have heard a lot of good things about them.

So what does it feel like under normal driving around town? If you are just coasting is there a heavy lag with a sudden jerk when it engages? An ECU/TCU would really allow you to deliver more... and at least the tranny is built for it now. It would be cool to see some track results.

Check out this link this is another guy with a high powered M275 with a stall. It may be hard to compare since he is very far from stock suspension along with roll cage and additional bracing.

I haven't hit the strip but I need to, I just don't have time. it cost about 6500 dollars altogether to have a totally rebuilt tranny beefed up and a torque converter. I would not hesitate to have southern hot rod work on my car. ed, the owner and the brains behind the operation, is actually a master Mercedes technician. I've only had it for about a week but the torque converter operates just fine. it honestly feels very similar to what it was stock. the big difference is when it hits about 3000 rpm all of a sudden you feel like a rocket. plus you can put your foot on the break and bring it up to 3000 rpm and then launch out the hole like a beast.

Sounds good in a way since stock set up will only allow you to power brake till ~2200-2400 RPMs before pushing through the brakes. However, on the street it must make you spin hard in 2nd constantly. Was there a need to flash the TCU? If not removing the torque limiter would really show what the car can do, even more so with an ECU flash. Good luck with the new setup.
