What is this exhaust?
Surfing around, I found this exhaust video. THIS is a killer sound, it's deep and thick. Best I've heard. Supersport Duplex ESD - I have to find out more. Wish I knew what all the mods were on this car. I cut my resonators and put in straight pipes, it's not bad for the cost, but the car in this video is awesome:
And here is another. I WANT!

So I'm thinking this is: cats in place (which I need to keep at any rate), resonators cut out, Supersport mufflers, crossover pipe up front. What is your guess?

I hate the way my car sounds with the cats being gutted. Wide open throttle sounds good, but at idle the hollow cavitys sounds horrible. I'll post a video soon.

Sounds rubbish... my old clk430 sounded better without the resonators and mufflers. There is no secret to exhaust, if you want sound just delete the res and straight pipe it no need to delete cats or touch the front half. It's the back end that filters the sound.

I've cut out the resonators and installed straight pipes. Sounds much better but the cars in the videos take it to another level, in my opinion. It must be the mufflers they are using.
Also, since my car is an '02 with a normally-aspirated engine, it has single exhaust tips, not the twin tips like the blown cars have.
New twin-tip muffs incoming. I'll need the lower rear valance from an '03-'06 CL as well.

Apparently exhaust sound is very subjective lol. I say again; post up a video of what YOU consider a nice sounding exhaust, I'm really curious.

Maybe it is the video, I know they can be deceiving but the sound of it after letting off the exhaust it sounds like it can't breathe like the cat broke and it's rumbling all around in the muffler. lol
Check this,
It's crisp and smooth, but it could be the camera?

My car sounds like the video above. I just got rid of the gutted cats and went with straight pipe in place of the primaries and race cats in place of the secondaries. Sounds 100 times better and doesn't stink any more.
Thank god.

Nice layzie
It is a subjective sound and glad your happy
I removed resonator only and looking for a little deeper fuller less flappy at wot sound.
Thinking of muffler replacements... And want streetable sound. Any suggestions here?
