This Friday its 1/4 mile time ;)

So this coming friday I will be going to the track for the first time with my car. I already read all the tips and tricks on how to hook the car. I will be taking the car on the trailer so it stays cool by the time we get there. I will run 100oct fuel with all my listed mods along with a 265/40/18 MT ET STREET on the rear. We will finally see what this thing can do. I'm getting a check engine light from what looks to be like a emissions issue due to my new downpipes but it should not hurt the performance in any way.

ECU reset and DYNO MODE will be done at the track.

I will have times late on Friday or Early sat with results.

I see in your mod list you have ECU tune. Would the ECU reset mess with the tune?

Hey lots of luck! If its not that warm out, don't be afraid to hot lap it. You have cooling mods and to me the car runs better on the second run without shutting it off.(tires still have some heat too). Remember if you don't get both wheels to spin for the burnout you'll know because you'll spin off the line. Have a great time!!!

Guessing mid to low 11s but you never know what the car has in it.

These are instructions written by Member Chawkins2001 so credit goes to him (thanks)

1. MAKE SURE TEMP GAUGE IS SHOWING ON CLUSTER, IF NOT SELECT THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO SCROLL TO THE TEMP GAUGE.
2. PUT YOUR KEY IN THE IGNITION, TURN IT ALL THE WAY OVER UNTIL ALL YOUR LIGHTS IN THE CLUSTER LIGHT UP , BUT DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON.
3. TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY OFF, THEN BACK ON TO THE FIRST CLICK.
4. PRESS THE RESET KNOB 3 TIMES FAST IN THE UPPER LEFT OF THE GLASS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
5. USE YOUR UPPER ARROW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND PRESS IT UNTIL THE CLUSTER READS ESP DYNO METER TEST.
6. SELECT THE PLUS(+) BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE CLUSTER WILL HIGHLIGHT “ON”.
7. START THE CAR UP WITH THE KEY, AND YOU ARE NOW IN DYNO MODE.
8. THE CAR WILL REMAIN IN DYNO MODE PERMANENTLY EVEN IF YOU TURN IT OFF. CHANGE IT VIA THE SAME METHOD ABOVE BACK TO NORMAL MODE.

I leave my car in DYNO mode while I'm at the track. I put the car in manual, do a burnout, and then return it back to 1st gear with the steering wheel controls at the tree. For the CL's and S's we can just leave it in manual and it will automatically shift at what ever max RPM the TCU is set for. I think other models are different and will bounce off the rev limiter. I'm assuming the non-amg 215's would work the same, you can try it on the street. Hope that helps. Don't forget your ice!!!

It turns all the drivers aids off such as traction control and I also believe it overrides the suspension so it doesn't try to level itself on the dyno when the car is strapped down. Someone would have to confirm that.

Good luck this weekend... Don't eat too much...every ounce counts!!! I'm sure when you return you will be knocking on Speedriven's door asking him to hurry up with getting the Quaife LSD group buy put together.

I did a few test passes at a good location in Chicago. Out of 5 burnouts all of them were good and both wheels spun fine. The car left hard but seemed to loose it right when it hit about 4kRPMS and spun a bit I stayed in it and hooked up and went down just fine the rest of the way. As the tires got hotter from the passes car kept holding better and better but got hotter and hotter at the same time. I will do a bigger burnout and track should be prepped way better than an industrial street in Chicago.

I have practiced launching in a few different ways and found that simply leaving off idle is the best way to go. We will see when I get to the track. I'm super excited and can't wait to see what the car can do. I have not even ran the car yet with the ICE in the rear tank, this should help me a lot to cool down.

On the street launching off idle is less likely to spin the tires, but with track prep launching at a higher rpm will get you a better 60 ft time. The most my brakes could hold was around 2200-2400 rpm...at that point you hit peak torque very quickly as the turbos need to spool. Either way have a good time!

Is there an equivalent procedure for the 216 CL?
