The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I guess you mean the SL65 or? I have no clue how many hours. But worked on it for several months since there where so much wait times during the build. Just like this build..When I get the headlights one of them didnt work properly so I have to send it back and wait for a new one. 2 weeks waisted and so on.

Time to start with the front.

Losen the 2 screws on each side.

Remove these and all covers.

The grill sits with these 4 screws.

Removing the front bumper. Sits with these screws.

Removing the fenders. The 2 screws next to the door is a pain.

Removing the headlights.

Some leftovers.

More leftovers.

Installing the Cable adapterkit for the headligts. Here in fusebox.

Here is in front at the headlight. The big black box is the one who do the magic.

Test to see that it all works like it should.

On with the new hood.

Reinstalling the old part. Fits straight on.

Installing uper grill molding.

Sits like this.

Installing the new fenders.

Fitting the new headligt and align it.

Aligment against hood and fender.

Installing the new front.

Adding the new facelift V12 emblem.

Test of the new headlights at nighttime to see that ILS works.
VIDEO:

Here it is with the new 22" Wheels. It is not finished here and the lowering is done with photoshop. Also the collor difference between the bumper and fender is because of me closing a gap there with Photoshop. It is not that difference in real Life.

Are you thinking of getting the headlights looking like this:
I actually like the wheels from the S class better, since, though being AMG and sporty, it's a classy car.
oh, and again I would like to congratulate you for your amazing job, and giving you some future options for your plans:
G-Class? R-Class? something even more "different", and I say this to you because your one of little people who keep surprising and doing things that never show up on the internet
Best regards!

I know it is very popular with concave Wheels right now and I am kind of sick of it since all hip guys get those now...And I was going to buy the Lexani LSS-5 for the car and the same day I ordered them they where discontinued. So I am using these Wheels till I find any others I like better with Deep dish since I Think this body needs a Deep dish wheel.

This was the car that inspired me to do this Project and also the Wheels. Those MEC Wheels are like $2300 EACH and that is totaly redicules so I aimed for the Lexani LSS-5 that is almost identical för $1600 for all 4 Wheels. And then they go discounted....SO ANGRY...So any sugestions are welcome and I might even go back to the S-class Wheels just because I am not 100% satisfied with the new ones.

I mean you can do whatever you want as long as it makes you happy.
Maybe this: http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels/series-s1/s107 or http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels/series-s1/s104
It all depends on your budget, HRE can be very expensive.

107 just look the same as the s-class Wheels I had on there first. 104 was really boring. It is clear what type of look you like.
All those are the most common paterns here in Sweden and so not Mercedes. If I even could afford HRE it would be something like 943,945 or 948..

Do you know if it's possible to use the same facelift parts....front/rear bumpers, mirrors, hood, front/tail lights on a 2003 CL55? Or, the underlying frame/setup completely different?
Also, do you use as many OEM parts as possible? Or, just get the parts wherever you can get them?
Do your awesome skills translate to mechanics....mechanical/electrical issues?

I Always use OEM unless I know something is as good or even better I go for that. When it comes to this car w216 there is no aftermarket Products except for the ones it share with the w221.
Think so at least mostly.
