CL65 Engine Pulleys I did search !
2005 CL65
I am getting ready to change my engine drive belt and see a few idler type pulleys. I did search but didn't find much of anything for the V12 guys just info related to the CL55. I would like to do it all once. Can someone point me in the right direction ?

Not sure if there are aftermarket idler pulleys available but the stock ones are prone to failure. I'd bet there are some that fit. Take your old one to Napa and see if you can find one with the same dimensions and swap for a higher quality unit.

At least one person tried,( a 55 owner & different engines) its not like I can't get the information. The sad part is no one cares to take a minute to help out. I'm going to take my car and tools and go home !

how many miles do you have on your car? I got a nice "surprise" last August, when (luckily 2 mins from home) I had my top idler pulley blow off, which tore my drive belt off, which resulted in a dash full of warning lights...was able to get it into driveway just before lost steering and pretty much everything else. Had to have it towed to the dealer, and the pulley when it flew off smacked a hole in the radiator so I got to buy a whole new radiator as well.

I was just around 60k I believe when it happened. Perhaps mine was a total fluke but that would of really sucked if I was say out driving alone in the mountains in winter.

Happend to me too. My upper idler pulley failed around 2 miles from my house so I was able to make it home. Had I not been so close, I would have been stuck on the side of the road.

If you take a look at your Owner's Manual in the back there is a diagram for the serpentine belts that call out the idler pulleys.
Another way is to go to
www.mymercedesparts.com
with your VIN. The less expensive pulleys are idler pulleys. You can call them and they will be helpful.
shardul might be able to get u something here on the board if you send him a PM.
BTW I replace these pulleys and belt(s) every 50k mile and keep the old ones in the trunk as spares in the MB boxes (unless they are really shot, so far, not.)
