Whats your battery life when not driving??

Im wondering how long does your battery last when you park your CLs.

I noticed if i park my car in the garage it will not start after a week of sitting. I have to charge the battery than everything goes back to normal. This dosen't seem normal and I'm curious if this happens to anyone else. This gets annoying since you need to break into the trunk and force it open to access the battery.

if i start the car daily the battery never dies so keeping that in mind there must be something draining my battery or it could be time for a new battery.

any help is appreciated

thanks

Maybe you should test your battery. Probably just getting weak.

Nevermind then. The V2 in particular draws a lot of power.

The short answer: buy and deploy a battery trickle charger.

The oem charging systems are NOT designed to bring the battery back to 100%. Further it is wishful thinking that our cars LOADED with electronic do dah's (being a technical term) do/will not draw current when OFF. This does not even take into account further custom electronics, or individual "customized" current draw !!

Unless you have a bad cell (normally statistically rare); with the trickle charger, it would not be unreasonable to expect a minimum of 4 years. Most of mine are diesel so I would normally recommend OEM (specified for greater current draw) . In the gasser case, still oem, but you have a greater latitude.

If you have an original MB battery you should get at least 5 years out of it. I would buy a CTEK maintainer, charge it up completely and then disconnect it. If the car won't start again after a week of sitting, then you have something draining the battery. I had the same problem with my CL and it turns out there was something wrong with the heated mirror and it was draining the battery.

Would you be able to share how you lowered the car using star?? I tried once, but failed.

Buy an Odyessy (not optima) battery when you replace yours. Not cheap, but why would you go cheap on a battery for a. CL.

thanks for the advice

and about the lowering, i actually took it to one of my buddies that owns the Mercedes Star program (he is also a member on this forum) and together we took our time and dropped it. I use the "raise" button when going over speed bumps or whenever its needed since I'm riding pretty low.

I heard if you lock the doors, power will be reduced while sitting up.. I use a MB bat and can sit for a month, with no issues. I usually drive the car once a week though.
