CL65(215) v M5(F10)

As the title which do you think would come out on tops assuming both are stock?

That's good. The reason I was asking is a guy not that far away from me just bought one and I know at some point it will end up in a lively race and I don't want to be looking silly if you know what I mean!

I think tunes are down on price now if you get a tune only your car will def get up and go. Even without a tune you should have him covered no issues. Make sure its a roll race

Thanks for the advise. I have a eurocharged tune on my laptop I just have to flash it on which should be simple enough. Roll race it will be

Nice car and mods you have done to your motor, brilliant stuff!

0-60 MPH in the M5 F10 is listed as 3.6 seconds, so don't expect to take it from a dig.

How do you say Bus lengths? See this video... If the 65 is flashed it's lights out.

I believe Video is stock vs Stock.

Yes but it's also an S65 which is heavier & slower than a CL. Even a TT V-8 M5 is going to have a tough time with a roll race against a CL65. Throw a tune on one or the other and the stock car will probably loose every time.

How about the OP just ask for a friendly race and take some videos for us...LOL Don't talk smack, you never know, the 65 is a 10 yr old platform. Sadly the king of one era may get beat by a 22 speed V8TT that just sits in the sweet spot for RPMs. Don't get me wrong I still love my car, but you gotta respect the technology as time goes on. There is only one way to find out, and every car can have a good or bad driver.

It would be a good race stock vs stock or tune vs tune. I raced an F10 on my SL65 but that's the lightest of the 4 65s, But those F10s are quick from the dig

Agreed I'm gonna ask my buddy with a tuned new M5 to run against my car once I have my misfire issues figured out.

Usually after you tune the 600/65 I notice ppl see their ignition coils to go out much faster. Once day after this 370z was trying to mess with me and I was bus lengths ahead car got really rough and CEL came on. Turned the car off and on after I was off the highway and it wasn't rough anymore but CEL was still on.

I went to my indy the next day did a quick scan and it showed 10/12 cylinders had a misfire lol

Happened just like that to me. Once I shut car off car back went to normal. I bet its the ignition coils, I'm glad they have gone down in price a lot since a few months.

Do you recall the PM I sent you specifically about this? I replaced mine prior to installing my tune with Autozone coils that come with a lifetime warranty. I then listed my perfectly funtioning used coils on ebay, of which one has already sold. Just food for thought when it comes to tuning these cars and the effects on the coils.

If you're getting a tune, install warrantied coils and sell the old coils before they fail and are worthless.

Not doubting what you say but I would definitely doubt what the owner said. Sorry, I'm calling it on the owner who said it was stock.

Down Pipes, exhaust, Burger tuning, on 93/100 oct mix... 11.07 at 128 mph

320 dreamer.. This 2013 m5 has some nice mods etc & DynoJet results were 638 rwhp (DJ are very comparable) hard to believe all mods above only adds 47 whp IE vs stock m5 you note having 591 rwhp

can't do any comparisons. i have little knowledge of bmw as a whole. i only know what i witnessed and then asked folks who know the owner what if any mods were on the car. i do know the guy is an older gentleman who doesn't do much in the way of modding. the exhaust was for sound not power.

we have a dyne contest every yr at this event and he won the v8 and up category. i watched the run and ran mine next.

do the 2013 and 2014 have the same motor?

These modded 2013 m5's show it's pretty much impossible to make 591 whp in STOCK form.. Here's another m5 '13 w/down pipes, full exhaust, 98 octane, and ecu made 553 whp..
http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M5-Timeslip-25483.html

A ton of dyno machines are either setup improperly or on load bareing dynos improper vehicle data is entered = extremely happy hp/tq numbers that mean squat..

2013/2014 share same 4.4 liter TT engine, the 14' model showed 15 BHP more @ 575 BHP vs 560 BHP.. That must be the difference Though it appears to be in PP factory tuning, after BOTH models are equally tuned by aftermarket companies this variance would be erased etc..

My stock 2013 M5 put down 560 rwhp on a dynojet. It was at a dyno day and a OE tuned 2013 C63 put down 411 hp so it wasn't a high reader. Looking through their dyno files there was a SL65 on that same dyno and it didn't quite break 500 rwhp. Used to have an SL65 and on a different dyno it did 528 rwhp. SL65 was still heavier than the M5 is. Stock for stock the even heavier CL65 wouldn't keep up with a new M5.
