IMO the 60mm offset tucks the wheels too much, they need to stick out more. With a 9.5 offset I'd prefer a 48-50 offset on a 9.5. My 10" wide wheels have a 50, but I think in a 10" a 55 would have let me go to a 305 and allow full stuff of the tire. I can easily clear 285's, but I might try 295's next time and see how close they are. I can't stand any tire rub.

The design of the wheel has a lot to do with that. The first set of wheels I bought were 48 offset (rears) in a 19x9.5 and they didn't even come close to clearing the calipers. That is more about the design of the wheel around the mounting flange. I worked with a couple different wheel dealers trying to figure out the right wheel for me. One of them, Need For Speed, is a sponsor on here. They were very helpful and have a great selection too. The other one I worked with, Wheelplus, is the one I bought my first set of wheels from that didn't clear my calipers. They were very helpful too though and have a ton of wheels on their website to look at.
Finding the right wheels for a CL65 is a real challenge. You can see what I ended up with in my sig. They fit well, look good IMO, and they also come in a matching 18" I use for drag radials at the strip. Good luck finding the right one for you.

Hijacking the thread a bit - think a 305/35 on a 20/10.5" with 50mm offset would rub the strut? I know Racehorse has 10.5's in the rear, but his sits pretty flush with the fender. Thoughts?

Waiting for my 18's I just had widened by Weldcraft to get here and see how they look. I think I could widen my 10's to a 10.75 and run a 305 with just a little fender massage.

I believe so. The CL65 factory wheel is a 9.5" wide wheel with a 60 mm offset. I know I have a lot more room to play with on the inside with my 10's & 50 offset than I do on the outside.

I have 335's on my SL. A CL with a wide tire.like that would be sick. Even a 305 would look great. I think the only ones that have been successful with a 305 was running 20's.

I'm in agreement, but I don't think 305's would fit in the fenders of a 600 without some hefty massaging. What do you all think is the minimum offset for a 10.5 that won't rub the strut? Better pulled fenders than ruined suspension.

Correction to my earlier post. I said my rear wheels are 19x10 with a 50 offset. They are actually a 55 offset. 285's tuck fully without rubbing at all, but they are really close to the lip of the fender. I haven't looked at clearance on the inside since adding the 285's, but there was a lot of clearance there with these wheels and 275's. I may consider widening them and stepping up to 305's next time.
