Happy day! Got my CL65!

Laser - Thank-You for sharing your
experience with your build and
congratulations on the sale
Your set the bar for W216's
After a year of waking up and first thing
checking this thread for updates it is over
Laser - you went for something that no one
else had tried with a W216
You did it your way and for that I stand with you
You know how I wanted to use the car
You might not have reached your goals
but you tried
I would also like to thank the forum members
who contributed with positive insights
This thread has a lot of positive information
Should this thread be sticky'd - I would hope so
Take a deep breath - a vacation - and get ready
for your next project and at the risk of flamethrowers
if it is a Mercedes please keep us informed
Thank-You again for sharing your build with us

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
so the question is - is it better to have a lower priced tuning shop in business that has screwed up many cars , or is better they shut down leaving only the more expensive but reputable tuners still standing ?
The coils will end in 680/780 part # if they are newer, you can see the labels on them when installed, on the back end. If they are the earlier 480/580 numbers, yes they will probably need to be replaced.
Saw the mods on the online ad, and driving home from the Sonoma Raceway I stopped to look at it and really, really wanted to fall in love with it. Seeing it in person, I knew there would be a risk of buying someone elses expensive heartache. Saw the work and parts put into it and figured I'd find a thread on it on a MB forum, and found this thread! This thread scares the hell out of me. High boost, super expensive car, no warranty, sad story with a tuner now out of business.
Been through a similar experience with a C5 and had a horrible vendor experience with morons at a company called Texas Speed which pretty much ended my Corvette hobby.

thank you
I have a W211 E55 and have always loved the look of the CL...so a crazy impulse drove me to start perusing...and researching...which led me to this thread...
and thus ended my impulse....
