2005 CL65 AMG
Module location on 2005 CL65 AMG
Hey guys new to the forum and am in the process of figuring out how to bring a CL that had some water damage back to life. Car powers up but will not start crank. Some water did make its way inside the interior so i am trying to figure out the locations of all the modules as to which might have gotten wet and shorted causing the car to be a large paperweight at this time. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some advice on this project?

There are units under the front passenger side foot well (right side remove carpet to access), and there is a unit under the right side back seat, access panel front of seat at foot level. Those are the ones I know

you need to get the car scanned by a Mercedes mechanic to troubleshot, without any clue its almost impossible to find the problem

I know i need to get that done just was hoping to find some resources outside the dealership. Compared to other car manufacturers the Mercedes resources outside the dealership are very limited.

The good news is that you can buy a Star system for under $1k. Bad news is you purchased a very expensive car to maintain and a project car at that. There is probably no worse car to have as a project car than the CL65. This one is like being married to a supermodel with a cocaine addiction but yours is like being married to a supermodel on deaths bed with some hefty hospital bills coming your way. Even if you can manage to revive, it will still be ridiculously expensive to maintain.

Appreciate the info and perspective very much (all scenarios I can relate too) . Super intrigued and impressed with the car (even in none running form) so hate to kick this one to the curb, but your feedback is probably the reality of the situation. If i take the plunge and further I will be sure to share my journey on this thread. Thank you

Thanks for the link. Seems like the SAM is the Achilles heal of the electrical system? any internal SAM failure shows its face all over the rest of the operating systems? This one i have is no start, and nothing powers up aside from the instrument cluster.
