CL65 as MSRP?
I don't think that the market is so slow, it is just the fact that all the dealers are trying to take everyone's head off with the premiums. We have a $45k mark-up on our car and most people who want that car, will be insulted with that add and most likely turn a buyer into a shopper!

Make no mistake, the 65 is a bad **** for straight line performance if you can hook it up and keep it hooked up. As for handling, well, my CL55 handles pretty damn good for a 4000+ lbs car (Thanks to the wonderful ABC suspension), it's no dancing queen.
I think 65's are aimed at a very limited and thin type of demographic.
Consider this, for the price-point of the CL65 you could have a Bentley or a Ferrari (i.e., a quality-made vehicle):
2004 Ferrari 360 Modena Spider F1 $244,000
2004 Bentley Arnage T - $224,995

Was at Caliber Motors in Anaheim California earlier today.
Their fully loaded CL 65 had an add-on sticker of $55,000. What was funny to me was at the opposite end of their showroom sat an almost identical looking car (same colors), only it was a new left-over 2003 CL 600 with a MSRP of only $139,000.
I asked how much they'd sell that one for, and the reply was:
"Make us an offer."
Two almost identical appearing cars; The new 2005 CL 65 is $240+K, the new 2003 CL 600 could be had for far less than half that amount I'm sure, or less than $120K. There is a used one up in Pleasanton, CA 94566 with less than 14K miles for only $89,950.
Sounds like the CLs are not a very wise investment. :p

Very few cars are a wise investment. Most are constant depreciating assets.
On second thought; its a possible used vehicle. Wouldn't that mean a resell and include the extended starmark warranty. Someone please educate me. Thanx.
