Hi everyone, when I bought my Mercedes I noticed that it had these spots on the windows. Has this happened to anyone else? It looks like delamination. Will it improve with a heat gun? Thanks, guys!
No, I don't even think about it. The cars are exposed to the sun and that can get quite hot on a surface in the summer (much warmer than the ambient air temp) and that doesn't fix it. It's probably what caused it.
I would just live with it if I were you. That's my approach.
To be clear, this was a defect in the window that even happened to uninstalled glass sitting in storage. Its why the double glazed glass is not offered for this model anymore from mb. MB does offer standard glass and the aftermarket does offer glazed. No foxes available, even superglue at the edge has been tried by people in the past.
All the CLs I've seen have it. It doesn't grow or creep, so I'd leave it be. It probably has something to do with the long span of front window glass we all have in our coupes. The rear quarter windows don't exhibit this, at least in my car.
Thank you all for your answers. In my case, they are on all 4 windows, just those little stains. I have never heard of putting glue on the edge. Do you think that would work? To prevent it from getting worse?
