amg, not that fast
I own a CL65, it has so much power ( I thought ) that there is no need to prove anything. The other night I was going home on a duel carriageway
when an old style 1996 M3 pulled out and I had to brake. I waited eagerly
to over take but when he puuled over I could not get by, since then I
have found that he lives local to me and have been told his car is standard.
What a Pratt I felt, the 65 has gone down badly in my estimation.

It's spelled PRAT, and you definitely are one.
In about 5 years, when you're hopefully able to qualify for a permit, you'll understand.

in your Mom's car
It's called the gas pedal. The vertical one. Just goes to show the kind of tools that buy cars they can't drive. You should have your license/permit taken away and should have to trade your CL in for a Yugo.

"duel carriageway"..."pratt"...???
You're either a 15 year old girl who can't spell and reads way too much Jane Austen, or a silly Brit who should be driving an Austin Allegro...

Moi, a 15 year girl!! it's just over head !!!
Pushing a pedal (that's the one on the right by the way) is easy, it's bends
that sort the men from the boys, that's why you don't have any.
And wow! Stealth Headlamps and AMG Valve caps will certainly boost the
power.
And yes I had an Allegro..........in the 60's.

Obviously the stock E36 M3 engine, with a 500 ft-lb deficit to the CL65, was not the agent of Mr. Sound's embarrassment. The owner swapped it for a Pratt and Whitney aircraft engine, possibly the JT9D from a 747. This is what the "Pratt" reference meant, and made the race very unfair.

sound 8 more thrust
No he would not have used Pratt and Whitney crap,
he would have used a Rolls Royce RB211 which gives an extra 4000lb thrust.

Unless the M3 was fully Boosted with a turbo the size of a fan I could see this maybe happening..., If his car is a "standard M3" you should go find the nearest DMV and hand in your license pronto!!

O.K. enough stick.
Let's explain. Where I live the dual carriageway is peppered with roundabouts.
In a straight drag sure my CL65 would have trounced an old M3.
However an M3 with 300bhp is far more nimble that a two and a half ton
CL65. I used to have a Mitsubishi Evo, you could practically straight line
roundabouts and many times a big powerful car followed me into a roundabout
by the time he'd exit I was gone. Now an M3 is not as good as an Evo but
it was still making several car lenghts on me from a roundabout, and ech time I caught him, he would not pull over and it's dangerous to go to the inside.
This happened over several roundabouts with the same outcome, but on the last roundabout a car pulled in front of me on exit and by the time he moved over the M3 was 10 to 15 car lenghths ahead. I gave it full throttle and was
making on him but not as quickly as my 612 bhp led me to beleive, I was inches from him still on full chat when he took the slip road not giving
me the satisfaction on glancing over when passing, that's what peed me
off. Track drivers will understand.
