2021 CLA 45 Lease or Finance
Hi guys, new to the forum and I just ordered a custom new CLA 45 to be delivered in a few months. I’m still decided to lease or finance.
Was curious what others thought. Just to note, there are no lease incentives on this model currently, really. I managed to get about 2300 off msrp (build msrp is 72500)
Many have advised to finance but im not interested in driving this far more than 3-4 years so I’m leaning more towards a lease even though it is still quite pricey.
Any thoughts and advice would be very appreciated. Happy to join the MB forum family! Thank you

You will soon see this forum is not high participation.
Leasing makes sense if 1) you can write off a portion of it under a business expense. 2) you get short-term leases as you like different cars or get bored quickly.
Remember though, Mercedes AMG models notoriously depreciate and that is factored into the lease. So you are basically paying the depreciation of the car while renting it. None of the money you are paying/paid is any equity at the end and you will be on the hook most likely for tires and wear and tear unless you buy the coverage for it.
Most people who lease also tend to get a car they cannot afford in traditional purchasing when reaching for higher models. Again this a personal choice, these questions usually gather the same response when people ask what they pay insurance...well it depends![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I bought mine. My circumstances was a huge discount which covered the first and most of the second years depreciation plus they gave me the first two services. I get bored quickly too, I kept my RS3 2.3 years and amassed a whole 2k miles. But I sold mine for 90% of what I paid as it was 1/3 in the color and highly sought after...this AMG will not have the same allure. So I will drive it and let my other cars rest.
Good luck.

I have great credit and was able to get 1.99% apr, that plus the great price I got made financing a better option. Leasing I would have been paying closer to 6% apr. I believe even if I decide to move on after 3-4 years I'll come out ahead where as with leasing not only would I pay more, I'd only break even.

I bought mine, MSRP was $71,410 and I paid $64,270 or $7,141 (10%) off MSRP. Looks like you are only getting about 3% off MSRP, I'd say you have a lot of room left in your deal, even though you placed an order you should still be aiming for 7-8% off MSRP.

This was a 2021 custom build order? I was having difficulty getting any kind of significant discount off a 2021 custom build but I’ve read of people getting much better deals off of 2020 models. How did you get 10 percent off?

How many dealers do you have in a 50mile radius?
Also how many competitors do you have locally (Audi, BMW, etc.)
Do you have any 45's on dealers lots near you?
Search on-line and research price's in your area. Decide if you are OK with your deal and take it from there.

I don’t mind getting it shipped for a good deal

that’s huge! I’m new to MB world, just test drove a cla 45 and really liked it. But all the dealers in dallas area want msrp for on the lot or custom orders. What dealerships do you all shop at? Any sales contacts you can suggest for a similar deals 7-10% off msrp?

Also - separate topic but can't you write-off part of the car if you own a business and finance? Never understood this vs. leasing.
